The foodies in Quimper !!!

Once again to one of my favorite spots in the Finistére dept 29 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, I have several posts on Quimper of course, this is just a recap of the most memorable foodie spots, The spot to enjoy the goodies of France in beautiful setting, a must to visit, me think, Therefore, let me tell you about the foodie in  Quimper !!!  Hope you enjoy the post as I.

For eating, we have tried some but the best for us is the Taverne des Halles, (which we came first under the name of taverne de maitre kanter!)  still nice, quaint, and good eating at reasonable prices. Lunch is good Dinner is romantic. The La Taverne des Halles is at Quai du Steir right in front of the Halles St François (see post), in fact we had eaten here above and there is a huge window to look down on the market inside! This time we took a table by the side of the Quai du Steir and  people watching took over. This is sadly has closed but will leave on this post for the memories of always, and we have plenty,

Lately, when stopping by we have chosen a new place, This is the Bar Des Amis at 18 Rue Astor, We had several lunches here already and all good, They do the catering based on fresh and seasonal products, .Aperitif from 18h to…: Planches & Tapas, Breton beers on tap, selection of wines by the glass.Terrace with 50 seats, sunshine all day long. Outdoor concerts from April to October. This little old-fashioned bar, facing south, enjoys one of the best hours of sunshine in the city. It is located in a strategic location, across from the halles St François or covered market (see post). It very regularly broadcasts the best European football and rugby matches. Very prompt friendly service we shall return,

For a quick cooffee pancakes short circuit we go to our local favorite already regulars at their Vannes store, This is the wonderful Columbus Café , so of course, we had our coffees here café mocha pour moi svp, A nice finish, the resto here is at 1 rue Astor, across from the above bar

During Summer time, we have gotten our ice cream refreshments at George Lanicol stand on Rue Kéreon, The always a must Rue Kéreon right off the Place St Corentin and into old Quimper full of restos, shops, and ice cream parlors , our favorite is Georges Larnicol,

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
