The Grande Plage of Carnac !!!

I came back to check out one of our favorite hangouts here, Carnac. And voilà realise several pictures missing from my blog and they should be in. On Carnac ,plenty written on it and Unesco heritage site on its megaliths stones, but for us the beach ambiance is it.  And Carnac, has plenty of good beach ambiance , in fact 5 beaches ! I will tell you more of the Grande Plage of Carnac !!!  Hope you enjoy it as I.

Briefly, the town of Carnac is indeed two. There is Carnac bourg or city center inland and there is Carnac plage or beach,along the ocean where the beaches are of course. Both are about 2 km away. Oh yes this is south of me about 30 minutes in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France! We need to move on so with the boys we came back to our family corner of the world. We used to come here a lot with my dear late wife Martine as it  is only 24 km or about 15 miles from our house. Proving this love for the area

The Grande Plage or big beach, this is absolutely wonderful and our favorite for hangouts and swimming. You must come here in Summer; it can beat any in the world me think. you have clear water, fine sand and 2 km long, the Grande Plage de Carnac is a treat for bathers and sunbathers. The Grande Plage is the largest of the five beaches in the city. In summer, swimming is supervised and water sports can be practiced safely. Two beach clubs set up there each summer. A few steps away, you will find many restaurants and shops. La Grande Plage is also accessible to people with motor disabilities thanks to adapted equipment, all this with the presence of qualified staff with bathing assistance, cloakroom, adapted shower and WC (toilets). The reception point is open from the 1st weekend in July to the last weekend in August inclusive, every day from 13h to 19h. The Grande Plage site has been certified tourism and disabled since 2007. Possibility of parking along the Grande Plage on bd de la plage. No dogs allowed.

I must admit, our favorite the Grande Plage de Carnac is a treat for bathers and sunbathers. The Grande Plage is the largest of the five beaches in the city. The Grande Plage faces south, an ideal beach for sunbathing. It is separated from the beach boulevard by small dunes. The boulevard has a long seafront promenade starting at the Yacht Club de Carnac and ending at Pointe Churchill. The beach is also the only beach with specialized access for the motor handicapped. It also benefits from the “tourism and disability” label as well as equipment and qualified guides to welcome people with reduced mobility. Many activities are offered at the entrance to the large beach. Children’s club, beach restaurant (Le Fisher), longe-coast center (sea walking), as well as the Yatch Club at the western end for water activities.

The Grande Plage is 2 km of fine and beach with a south exposition, with beach cabins is a must for all families ,in season, the beach is with lifeguards protection.  There are two children clubs in season.  The beach is rated A for water safety in France. You won’t go wrong here, and I tell my family this one can match any and I grew up in beach areas in the Caribbean! Parking is available even right along the beach on the boulevard de la plage! Of course, we have eaten here a lot over the years. I have foodie page but for info these are the Lulu à la plage,across the beach, and Fisher’s Club on the beach, and the l’Igloo ice cream parlor.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
