The Martin Parr Exhibition at the Jeu de Paume museum: A Smile Amidst the World’s Disarray, The great British photographer, who passed away on December 6, 2025, contributed to the creation of the masterful retrospective dedicated to him at the Jeu de Paume. Martin Parr is a world unto himself. Our world. His images have a certain something, a certain something. Those tourists we mock, who spend their entire summer salary on a couple’s selfie with a selfie stick on the beach of the highly touristic Goa in India, a McDonald’s at the foot of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, or who wander aimlessly from a bout of melancholy in Ikea to a sunburn at Machu Picchu—that’s us again. It doesn’t matter if the department store is in England or elsewhere; all our interiors look alike. And so do our exteriors. This is passed but celebrated every February 2nd by Catholics and Orthodox Christians, Candlemas commemorates the Gospel account of the presentation of Jesus at the Temple in Jerusalem. But the symbolism of this feast, one of the most important of the Middle Ages, is much broader. Candlemas commemorates the biblical episode of the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. In ancient Israel, according to the Law of Moses, every firstborn son had to be taken by his parents to the Temple in Jerusalem forty days after his birth to be consecrated to God. According to the Gospel of Luke, on that day, an old man named Simeon met the young Jesus and declared that he saw in him “a light to enlighten the nations.” In French the Chandeleur you eat crêpes indeed !

Currently under construction, a new park will open in the coming years in La Défense, on the outskirts of Paris. Covering 5 hectares and stretching 600 meters in length, this new urban park will transform the La Défense esplanade. It is expected to be completed by 2028. The park will include a playground and sports facilities, as well as various designated areas for relaxing during a break or picnic. With the creation of cool islands and the restoration of natural soils, the park will play a key role in combating climate change. A green lung for western Paris, it will allow for the planting of 314 trees and the creation of six new ponds. It will also serve to diversify local flora and fauna. Stay tune ! The historic heart of Paris’s best crêperies, Montparnasse, with nearly a million Bretons living in the Paris region, has historically been the go-to neighborhood for crêperies. Around Rue Odessa and Rue du Montparnasse, Breton cuisine is everywhere. Coeur de Breizh, Crêperie du Manoir Breton, Ty Billig, and Le Petit Morbihan embody this tradition. Here, buckwheat galettes are cooked right on the griddle, in front of the customers, in a friendly and authentic atmosphere. For many Parisians and visitors, this is where you’ll find some of the best crêpes in Paris. I agree !!!!
