I again, went to Vannes, again and nice experience again indeed, The capital city of my beautiful Morbihan and lovely Bretagne is worth the detour. I again took pictures of this wonderful monument and the reason of this post. Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on the Chapelle Saint Yves of Vannes ,part II !! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The Chapelle Saint-Yves Chapel is in the heart of the city of Vannes in my beautiful Morbihan. It is located on Place Maurice-Marchais. It is adjacent to the Collége Jules-Simon (middle school), a former Jesuit college, across the street to the city/town hall of Vannes. Another wonderful spot in the city, and great walk area as well as the entrance to the old town section full of shops and restos/bars !

The first college in Vannes, with a first Saint-Yves Chapel built in 1577. In 1629-1630, the college and its chapel were entrusted to the Jesuits. The chapel was in 1616 before being rebuilt from 1661 to 1685 with the financial assistance of Catherine de Francheville.(see post mansion), The chapel, built in a spirit of austerity, is inspired by Italian Baroque models and representative of the Jesuit style of the time. It was built at a time when the city experienced an important religious boom with the installation of many communities and the construction of convents, retirement homes or chapels. After an important renovation, the Chapelle Saint Yves openned with a Mass 23 january 2022.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers

I have seen a similar Baroque style chapel in Aix-en-Provence to the Saint-Yves…in fact I first thought your post was in reference to this region! Lovely!
