The Conleau Peninsula of Vannes, part III !!!

So let me bring out again to the Presqu’île de Conleau, another peninsula near me. This is more urban but a nice harbor ,pool and walks for our dog and is in Vannes! Another spot of which written but found me older pictures that should be in my blog. This is another idylic spot down tuck in a corner of the Gulf of Morbihan, in the Conleau peninsula of Vannes, part III !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

Conleau is one of the neighborhoods of the city of Vannes. The area was created during the 20C from two former hamlets named the Petit Conleau and the Grand Conleau, each composed of a manor house and farmhouses. The Conleau peninsula  is an ideal spot for families,barbecue, and just soak in the tranquil life away from the city and crowds. The  Conleau peninsula   is a former  island of the Gulf of Morbihan, connected to the mainland by a dike road from 1878. Of modest dimensions at about 500 meters in length for an average width of 100 meters.  It lies  at the  confluence  of the rivers  Vincin and Marle, the two main streams of Vannes.

In 1878 the résidents decided to give a different look at the area so they created a seawater pool surrounded by changing cabins,showers , chalets , a restaurant, and a hotel all around it.

We used to go a lot to the colorful Créperie Guinguette , probably the best spot for eating, sadly they have closed and since we have not eaten in the new place yet, The other spot we like and great views of the harbor is Le Corlazo Café ;Allée du Dr-François-Salomon facing the seawater pool and the Café de Conleau ,Allée des Frères Cadoret, as well as the fine restaurant le Roof in the Best Western hotel , very nice views of the harbor too.

There is a nice pines forest of Conleau. all along the shores of the Gulf of Morbihan and the banks of the Vincin river, this pinewood, composed of sea pines and secular oaks, gives this site a maritime atmosphere that offers shade and freshness to the many visitors. There is a children’s playground. And my dog Rex loves to walk around here a lot !  The Port of Conleau channel has 2 thresholds that you will not be able to cross by large tides, even medium, with a watering of 1m60. If you are wet after these thresholds, you have more current …For info as never in a boat by here, The views are fabolous !

There is what it looks like a wonderful camping 4 stars in Conleau, again, we have not been living so close, but do frequent camping ,and this one looks very good.

There you go folks, a wonderful spot to spent your weekend and relax while enjoying the wonderful natural beauty of the harbor on Conleau peninsula ,and always on the lookout into the Gulf of Morbihan. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
