WordPress ,you and me 2023 !!!

Right off the bat, I thank you very much for reading my blog, Paris1972-Versailles2003.  This blog kept me busy and has been uplifting and deeply appreciate all comments and likes over the years since 26 November 2010! There has been some old virtual friends gone and some new ones I see, all welcome and glad you made my day in time. I started on WordPress after advice from an American friend living in Madrid for over 30 years who told me it was easy to work for the non technical guy in me and it has been wonderful , thanks to you all ; althought lately some changes they made are not to my liking, my initial theme was no long supported and was force to pick a new one, not fully control yet. Of course, as you know, will do this post in my black and white series, no pictures. Hope you enjoy it as I.

Many good well wishes for 2024.  It will be better than 2023 so may all your hopes and dreams come true in good health. We stay home as in the last wishing you all a very very Happy New Year and best wishes to all. Another year goes by, and 2023 was my first year of retirement ,and 2024 will be my first full year retired, The sensations are weird, glad to finally make it and spent more time at home ,but also sad that my travels will be cut with no more business trips to far away lands. Sadder still my parents who lived with me are now both gone as my wife just staying put with my 3 young men, hopefully they stayed longer.

I like to give out some statistics that nicely WordPress give us and I look at it every year at least. Again thank you all for your kind comments and likes, really appreciated.

As of 31 December, 2023 , I had records in views and visits ! first  59 227 views,  33 631 visits, 22 190 likes! ,and 612 comments . I had written 1029 posts! Also, the most! And have so far 1151 followers which has gone beyond my wildest expectations! Thank you again, I have deleted some who do not share or partake on the blog no need to follow just to look, Behold I have DCMA copyright warnings on all my pictures,(see page),

My Top 10 articles view for 2023 were:(many were surprises !! ) The Somport Pass/Tunnel France and Spain !!!, WordPress you and me 2022 !!! The Ceilings of Versailles !!! The Citadel of St Martin de Ré !!! Windjammers Barefoot Cruises !! A little chapel in a little town, Ernée ! The Restaurant Chains of France !! The Central Market of St Germain en Laye !!! and The Avenue de New York of Paris !!

Top 10 countries followers for 2023 were: United States, France, United kingdom, Spain, Belgium, India, Indonesia,Canada, Australia,and Finland,

My top search engines were: Google Search, WordPress reader, WordPress Android App, Bing, Yahoo search, Duckduckgo , Lens Google, Baidu, Facebook, ecosia org, and qwant.

There are a total of 6 pages not visible but on footer, 15 categories of posts and 15 tags with 7 favorite outside links not visible in the new theme !. There are over 60 000 photos already here wow!!! 67% of memory space taken ! My best viewing day is Friday. and the best time is 16h or 4 pm!! The best day viewed still is December 10, 2012! with 972 views !!! Still hard to beat do not know what happened that day lol !! There are about 6 steady commentators and ,you know who you are , and my wish is to have more comments, constructive comments that is. My most view post was The Somport Pass/tunnel France to Spain of July 2 2021 with 1759 views !!

My New Year 2024 is at home again, no desire to go out and do anything just another day another year for me. Last my Dad Elio passed away January 7 2023 ,he was 87 years old and saw the world with me always tagged him along ,so at least he lived a full life ,cannot say the same of my dear mom Gladys and wife Martine ,who went out at 72 and 59, and a half. I will missed them all , but life needs to go on for the boys and the loving good they taught me.

I am a lover of travels to Europe , Americas , Africa and Asia as well ,who like to share my experiences of the last 53 years with the world, visiting so far 81 countries; living in 6, working in 5, and Citizen of 4, speaking fluently 4 languages. I can deal with sports especially football/soccer and love music, arts, wine collector/drinker, and go out to restaurants, and just visit the world. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
