We have the festival of impressionistes ,all over Normandy and at Giverny , where we are reminder of the close collaboration with Japanese painter Hiramatsu Reiji , presenting for the first time in France. The presentation will have a collection on display of japanese scenes from Claude Monet, and works of the prestigious collection at the museum of Musée Marmottan Monet ,and the high school or lycée Claude Monet of Paris. Call « Hiramatsu, the fountain of nympheas, honoring Monet »,until October 31.
At Granville, « Impressions Dior » witness the links uniting the house of Dior with the impressionistes movement. THe museum Christian Dior starts a dialogue between a selection of paintings by Monet, Degas, Renoir , and others and more than 70 dresses from the first creation of Mr Dior. until September 22. At Grasse, you have the Musée International de la Parfumerie; exposition of Paul Poiret. fashion modist that was the first one to create its own perfum house in 1911 : Les Parfums de Rosine. Hey although nowdays I enter Paris by Montparnasse, I cannot forget my first train station of entrance to work in Paris, Gare St Lazare, it was a bit rusty and old, then, but it has gone a renaissance and its now I said one of the best train stations in France ,not to say Europe.
This is a great theater near the area of my work,and visit next week, Théatre des Sablons, yes by metro Sablons or buses 43 and 82 at Chartres takes you here easy from Paris, the theater is in nearby Neuilly-sur-Seine dept 92. Great expectacles and Jane Birkin will be in December lol!
Right now you have from September 13 to 16 the Salon du Cycle at the parc des expositions de la porte de Versailles. You can test bikes on site, and rides with more than 400 brands from 27 countries.

The Biennale de Belleville comes back in September 2014 with new artists in vogue, al. ways something to look forward to. Look for this site for the updates, it’s a great event. At the Hotel Salomon de Rothchilds at 222 blvd Saint-Germain, from October 4,5,6 the European days of letters or the Journées Européen des lettres manuscrits will be on display at the museum.
Les Docks encircle a whole block. at the banks of the river Seine, just open last year and already life in the district. See wonderful Lyon, France’s 3rd largest city. 6-9 December 2013 its the Fête des Lumières or festival of lights, and take advantage of a visit to the wonderful Bibliothéque des Arts . Just passed by the gare de Bellegarde on my way to Switzerland, opened in May 10 2010 this has a very nice engineering touch of double dome which is opaque and transparent good for summer and winter. air circulation provides the energy Inside. Not to leave out the RER B/RER C Saint-Michel-Notre Dame.
A wonderful place showcase here before but now is open to the public is the Elephant paname, centre d’art et de danse, 10 rue Volney The mansion was built by the Russian ambassador Under Napoleon III. France benefits from one of the biggest and most dense network of libraries in the world. It has about 2500 of them (compare with only 1000 in the UK). In Paris,there is a Library for each 4800 inhabitants – a record. The government just came to help more with an aide package of 9M€ to help the indépendants. there is even a new internet site that regroup them all. It will help find your book, choose the Library closest to you, and reserve to pick up there.
Until March 8 2014 at the Salle Saint Jean de l’Hôtel de Ville de Paris, you will see wonderful photographs of inmense Paris by Brassaî, call Brassaï : Pour l’amour de Paris. For more than 50 years Brassaî ,the writer, photographer, and movie maker had with Paris a total passion. The city that made the red cord of his work and the heart of his réflexions all along his career.

The Fair Lady is coming to the Théatre du Châtelet from December 5 to January 1st 2014. Visit the Buddhist Panthéon near the Arc de Triomphe, 16 avenue d’Iéna, where you can see the over 250 works taken back in 1876 by Emile Guimet, where his museum is just next door Paris has many churches, but go to the one call Church of Saint Christophe de Javel built in 1926 in a working class district and beautiful enough for all to come see it. Do you remember the old Paris stores? how about magasins Prisunic… 136-138 rue de Rennes, 75006. Done in 1906, it is today the FNAC store at Montparnasse since 1974. how about the palais du Trocadéro? , well at the hill of Chaillot, following the universal expo of 1878 a palace was built in a néo-moorish style, a new one was built at the place in 1932 for the other universal exposition in Paris. The tower on each side you see now, were really a dome in the middle , now it is flat. At the gare de la bastille or train station done in September 1859 ,it was closed when the RER A open, in 1969. From 1984 it is now the opéra Bastille! In 1923 before the well known cafe Le Select opens, the place was call the Dingo Bar at 10 rue Delambre; here Americans used to come way back such as Erza Pound,Henry Miller, John Dos Santos,Ernest Hemingway met Francis Scott Fitzgerald!!!

the Zoo de Vincennes will reopen in April 2014?
