I have written on this town before ,but found some extra pictures and decided they should be in my blog too. The official name of the town is La Baule-Escoublac ,and is in the dept 44 of Loire Atlantique in the region of Pays de la Loire . Locally, and myself included we call it La Baule. I step into La Baule, as a collegue of mine lived not far from there (now in Canada) ,and was telling how nice it was but very crowded in Summer. So we decided to check it out in the Fall and have a taste of it. Nice experience we will be back, and were. La Baule,is 12 km from Saint Nazaire and 50 km from Vannes (my capital city) and 62 km from Nantes ; it is about 109 km from my house.

The main street coming from the beach Av du Général de Gaulle is indeed the liveliest and most emblematic street in the city, where local shops, ready-to-wear boutiques, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are concentrated. The Tourist Office is located at the end of the street.
The Gulf Stream cinema we just enjoyed the looks art deco style reminds me of another spot in my world; nice. All rooms are digitally equipped with 3D and dolby digital surround sound ex bi-amplification., It is located at 52 Av. du Général de Gaulle.Webpage: https://www.cinegulfstream.fr/
The cultural space of the Chapelle Sainte-Anne is great ,this is used to be the Notre-Dame-des-Flots, which was built between 1880 and 1886 and extended by two lateral naves in 1903. It was abandoned later on and the Chapel was acquired by the city in 1981. In 1989, after renovations the building was change into a cultural center. It is located at Place du Maréchal Leclerc.
La Baule-Escoublac has two train stations: La Baule-Escoublac located in La Baule which I passed by it at Place Rhin et Danube, and La Baule-les-Pins located east of the city. They are crossed by the Saint-Nazaire – Le Croisic line as an extension of the large radial from Tours. One hotel we have enjoyed even if it was for one night was the Hôtel Les Pleiades, In the heart of the bay of La Baule and 50 meters from the beach, is a charming property from the beginning of the 20C in the middle of a shady park, with a view facing the sea.
