Christmas at Locronan !!!

And here I am updating and revising a wonderful old post from Christmas 2015! As the season is again with us and never to go away. The pictures are the same to keep it in perspective. The town of Locronan  is in the Finistére dept 29,of my lovely Bretagne, and in my belle France. The Christmas market is small in Locronan as the town is with less than 1K inhabitants but the dimensions of its fame are huge. We have come here every year since we were in Brittany ! Therefore, here is my take on Christmas at Locronan !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

We went as usual by car , about 1h30 from our house is Locronan. This is a famous town famous for its Grande Tromédie (second sunday of July) a religious and historical procession of 12 km (see post), And of course, we look at the Christmas chalets , they are nice quant but a bit smallish . More than 5 km of garlands and light curtains will illuminate the Little City of Character with the magic of Christmas. And all this in the wonderful historical and architecturally stunning little town of Locronan, where we have one of the best Christmas markets in Bretagne!  I had visited the town back in 2013, and I was told again that the Christmas market was taken off here well so so we decided to take a look.  The town is a Petite Cité de Caractère de Bretagne or a small town of character of Brittany. It shows the Breton traditions quite well, and the stone ambiance gives it an eerie feeling of Merlin ::) It is, also, one of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France or one of the most beautiful towns of France !

On the program: concert of sacred gypsy songs, street shows and Breton dances, fairground rides and Santa Claus on a pony! Christmas magic works every time in the wonderful little city of character, it’s magic and free! In all the streets and all the squares of the historic heart, the light decorations will compete in beauty in the purest and most traditional Christmas spirit! Spicy and gourmet scents will guide you throughout your journey, for a ride that promises to be enchanting. Traders and art craftsmen will welcome you on the Christmas market made up of 25 chalets and in their shop or workshop to find magnificent gifts

 We did our shopping in the Au Loup Garou Gourmand store with goodies like cider, seafood products in cans, candies, jellies etc.  It is known as the house of the 100 Breton beers as they are here in all shapes and tastes. And of course, we look at the Christmas chalets even if in the afternoon they were not light up yet. It is nice quaint but a bit smallish and we have really enjoy it. We are only about over an hour from our house so another wonderful backyard town to stop by.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
