The foodie in Brest !!!

This is a memorable foodie spot in our lovely Bretagne. The very first time we saw it in Brest in the Finistére dept 29. It does brings lots of family memories and we have follow them here and in Séné (see post) I like to bring back to life our wonderful experiences in the foodie in Brest !!! First, we stumbled upon the Au Bureau restaurant at 10 Rue de Siam while in our walks of Brest and it became our favorite to my dear late wife Martine for its fondue camembert dish and the ice cream of nine scoops! Memories forever !

And oh well, we needed to eat, oh yes, that is what we came here to do , my oldest 23 birthday and he been such a humble guy when there first we ate at Au Bureau, 10 rue de Siam . Last time had a Juicy burgers, the fish and chip and the camembert roti with desserts from coupe giante of 6 scoops of ice cream to banana split, with plenty of leffe blonde beers was for 24 euros per person.  And as so often happened when visiting and not coming back soon even if we live close ….. the restaurant had change ownership, now call the Rest Au Pub; however, pretty much same menu ambiance, and friendly service.  This time under the new name , we got the 9 scoops of ice cream dish back upon request!!! and of course he had his Triple burger with a nice bottle of Saumur Champigny,  red  2013 Les Longes (in memory of the great school of cavarly Cadre Noir of Saumur).

The Rest Au Pub is at same location,10 Rue de Siam This brasserie-restaurant is also a bar whose menu of cocktails, beers and whiskeys is ideal to have a good time. Located at the bottom of the Rue de Siam , this friendly restaurant welcomes you for a well-deserved lunch break or a casual dinner with friends. Hearty dishes will be served in the dining room or on the terrace, and you can enjoy the festive atmosphere of this great  pub summer and winter. Indeed worth the stop even with the new name. Wonderful family memories indeed.

The Au Bureau folks have finally open a branch by the port at 145 Quai Eric Tabarly, This one we have not tried yet but will in the near future,

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
