Curiosities of Locmaria-Grand Champ !

I passed by here several times on my way to work and back as an alternative route, This is a small village with lots of new real estate developement growing that is, I did pick up the baguette on its bakery of Locmaria-Grand Champ  in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne, and belle France. Let me tell you on curiosities of Locmaria-Grand Champ ! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The village of Locmaria-Grand Champ is about 4 km from Grand-Champ, 8 km from Colpo, 13 km from Vannes ,and 20 km from my current home from which we came along the D16 road dir Colpo then making a right onto the D779 road dir Grand Champ go thru City center on Rue de la Madeleine continue on the D133 road or Route de Locmaria-Grand Champ to the village at Place de la Voile,

The Maison des Associations 400m² multipurpose room welcomes the 160 children who eat lunch at the school cafeteria every day. It also hosts activities for various sports associations, such as gymnastics and dance. This space can also be arranged for all types of events.

The Halle or covered market is held on Thursdays from 16h to 19h30 under the halle or covered market, small but so is the village, A picturesque village to enjoy the real life of my beautiful Morbihan ,right in the country side of my lovely Bretagne,

Other things to see here are the ruined Château de Coët-Candec, built in the 13C and extensively remodeled in the 15C, saw aesthetic and technical modifications in the 19C. The Kerhervé manor house was destroyed, and the farm buildings were remodeled in the 19C and 20C, reusing an unidentified coat of arms and a gate.

A bit of history tell us that Locmaria Grand-Champ was also the scene of one of the most important battles linked to the history of Breton Chouannerie: the Battle of Pont du Loc’h on January 25, 1800. On that day, the Republican armies of General Harty faced the troops of the famous Georges Cadoudal (see post) and his allies, such as Pierre Guillemot alias “The King of Bignan”. It was declare a town on December 14 1889,

Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
