One of the small popular towns in my belle France , and always worth the detour, me think, this is Giverny , I used to come often here for the old American artists and Monet. When moved to the Morbihan breton it has been a while not back, but always looking forward to be back, eventually, This again is thanks to my digging in my cd rom vaults for pictures that should be in my blog for you and me. Therefore, here is my take on curiosities of Giverny !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I
For reference, Giverny is in department Eure no 27 region of Normandie, and in my belle France. Only 3,5 km from transport hub Vernon, at the union of the Seine and Epte rivers, 74 km from Paris and 64 km from my former dear Versailles. We came easily along the A13 autoroute de Normandie dir Rouen do exit/sortie 14 dir Vernon getting into a road now call A13a then sharp right at roundabout to get onto the D113 road dir Mantes then bear left dir Bennecourt cross the Seine river on Route de Giverny D221 road traverse Grand Île or big island continue on D221 and cross the Seine river again quick left turn onto Rue de l’église continue on same road traverse Bennecourt continue on Rue de Limetz /Rue de Bennecourt traverse Limetz-Villez and continue on the D201 road into Giverny turn left on Rue de Falaise /Chemin du Roy and make a right turn on Rue du Colombier it becomes Rue Blanche Hoschedé-Monet, continue the City hall of Giverny is on your right and across the street is the museum,
The Musée de la Mecanique Naturelle houses a collection of industrial and agricultural engines, assembled since 1966 by three brothers, all mechanics driven by a shared passion: restoring machines to their former glory. You’ll discover a range of hydraulic machines from around the world (United States, France, Poland, England, etc.), meticulously restored to working order. From motor pumps to agricultural implements straight out of Modern Times, and including artisan machines like an 1824 veneer saw capable of cutting precious woods into thin sheets with millimeter precision! Immerse yourself in the world of the Guillemard Brothers! Do see my picture of an engine from 1908 outside walking by it.

The Moulin des Chennevières is today a B&B , Located on the banks of a branch of the Epte river, which forms the Giverny stream, the Chennevières Mill has a history linked to the village millers, dating back to the very beginning of the 19C. The mill was built around 1820 by Mr. Singeot. In 1900, the American painter Stanton Young fell in love with the place and settled there after having stayed for a time at the Hôtel Baudy. The “flour mill,” as it was called, was repurposed. A studio was set up there. I did not stay just walk by it Here you’ll find restored industrial and agricultural heritage items, back in working order, as well as the stories of the people who designed them.
