This is great as found me pictures in my cd rom vault not included in my blog, and they should be for you and me. This is another emblematic theater icons of Paris! Even if not an expert on theater goings they are wonderful expressions of architecture and history of my belle France. And must say on the off the beaten path ,and should be visited more, Therefore, here is my take on the Théâtre Marigny of Paris !!! Hope you enjoy it as I,

The Théâtre Marigny is located in the Carré Marigny, at the corner of Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Avenue de Marigny, in the 8éme arrondissement of Paris. The Théâtre Marigny building, situated in the northern gardens of the Champs-Élysées, comprises the Salle Marigny, an Italian-style theater, and the Studio Marigny (formerly the Salle Popesco), a modern venue. A bar is available before the performance. Restaurants are located near the theater. It can be reach by Metro Champs-Élysées-Clémenceau ,line 1,metro Franklin Roosevelt line 9), and metro Champs-Élysées-Clémenceau line 13, Also, by bus lines 42 and 73 at arrêt/stop Champs-Élysées-Clémenceau , and bus lines 32 and 80 at arrêt/stop Point des Champs-Élysées, And of course by car with Indigo parking at Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées,

A bit of history I like tell us that in 1835, a physicist and magician presented his acts in the Carré Marigny. After the 1848 revolution, a small theater, the “Château d’enfer” (Hell Castle), presented shows of “amusing physics, phantasmagoria, and curiosities.” This modest attraction was forced to close, and Jacques Offenbach, deeming the location ideal in anticipation of the 1855 Universal Exhibition, acquired it, undertook some renovations, and opened the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens on July 5, 1855, soon renamed the Bouffes d’Été (Summer Bouffes). In 1859, upon the expiration of Offenbach’s lease, the theater became the Théâtre Deburau, before becoming the Folies-Marigny in 1865, under the management of the Montrouge family. The theater was demolished in 1881 to make way in 1883 for a panoramic view designed by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera. In 1885, the dioramas “Paris Through the Ages” in eight tableaux by Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer and “Jerusalem” by Olivier Pichat could be admired there. The Panorama was transformed into a rotunda theater in 1894. The auditorium was further enlarged and modernized in 1925. In 1946,was taken by members of the Comédie-Française to form a resident company around Jean-Louis Barrault: the Renaud-Barrault Company was born. In 1954, Jean-Louis Barrault created a second, smaller theater within the complex, the Petit-Marigny. Owned by the City of Paris, the theater, then in a state of serious disrepair, was closed in 1962. Finally, from 1966 to 1978, major renovations were undertaken, including the complete transformation  of the second auditorium into a small 311-seat theater, the Salle Gabriel, renamed the Salle Popesco a few years later. In 2010, the Théâtre Marigny was one of fifty Parisian private theaters that joined forces within the Association for the Support of Private Theater (ASTP) and the National Union of Directors and Tour Managers of Private Theater (SNDTP). Under the banner of “theatres parisiens associés ” or associated parisian theaters ; they aimed to strengthen their efforts based on the historical model of private theater. Closed since July 2013 due to structural problems, the building underwent rehabilitation work. It reopened in November 2018 with a stage adaptation of the musical film by Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand, Peau d’âne (Donkey Skin). The rest is new history the theater is marvelous,
