The Isthmus of Penthiévre in Saint Pierre Quiberon !!!

I am again went to my fav area in my beautiful Morbihan and found it even more beautiful as each time here it is, me think, I am taking you back to the town of Saint Pierre de Quiberon in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne in my belle France. The isthmus of Penthiévre is at the entrance to the town and part of the town in turn part of the wonderful Presqu’ïle de Quiberon peninsula, and only 40 minutes from my house. Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on the isthmus of Penthiévre in Saint Pierre Quiberon !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The town of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon constitutes the northern part of the Quiberon peninsula, you pass the isthmus of Penthièvre that forms the entrance to the Quiberon peninsula , Driving along the road D768 , strange road that goes up passing thru my current home, I have written more on the historical Fort of Penthiévre, still a military installation , and a sad site of firing squads assassination during the Nazi occupation. You have parking across the road D768 on the Isthmus, and the Plage de Penthiévre beach on the fort side, Very beautiful beach with, with at low tide , sandy and a yachting school Always very nice to see!

An isthmus is nothing more and nothing less than a strip of land between two seas, or two gulfs, connecting one landmass to another. This geographical phenomenon remains relatively rare in Brittany. Only 22 meters wide at its narrowest point, it links the Quiberon peninsula to the mainland. A tourist road, a railway line (tire bouchon), and a cycle path coexist along this narrow strip. The Isthmus of Penthièvre is the obligatory crossing point for anyone wishing to reach the Quiberon peninsula, a major tourist destination in Brittany.

There you go folks, we live in heavens in land and so close to the marvelous Breton coast filled with hundreds if not thousands of beaches and wonderful historical sites. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
