The new CDG Express of Paris !!!

This is good news to many people and many who visit the most beautiful City in the world , Paris , who else ! The main airport of Paris sometimes scare people with its laberynth of satellites and terminals , easy for me , it was my second home for many years, as recently as November 2019 even worked in it, know it better. Of course, my dear wife Martine worked in it too for several years in the cargo area,  There are about 10 towns that are within the territory of the Charles de Gaulle aiport and none is Paris! With two particular ones ,Roissy en France and Tremblay en France !!  The good news and the reason of this brief update is the CDG Express is coming !!! Of course, will do this post in my black and white series, no pictures, Therefore, here is five cents on the new CDG Express of Paris !!! Hope you enjoy this post as I,

The town of Roissy-en-France is located in the Val-d’Oise department 95 in the Île-de-France region. This town was made world famous in 1974 during the establishment of the international airport which bears its nickname and occupies part of its territory Roissy CDG, it is 25 km from Paris.  The city of Tremblay-en-France is located in the Seine-Saint-Denis department 93, in the Île-de-France region,and only 25 km from Paris as well.

The CDG Express, the new direct train connecting Gare de l’Est to Charles de Gaulle Airport in 20 minutes with runs every 15 minutes from one train to the other. CDG Express will run from 5h to midnight, A one-way ticket will cost 25 euros. It opens on March 28, 2027. Stay tune and get on the express quickly Paris is awaiting you !

CDG Express is a rail link connecting Paris-Est station to Charles de Gaulle Airport . It will depart from my nostalgic first ever train station in Paris thanks to my dear late wife Martine who used to come to work in Paris from Meaux (77) ,the Gare de l’Est
using three existing platforms reserved for it. The project will extend the Château-Landon tunnel under Rue La Fayette to Gare de Magenta, with elevators providing access to the CDG Express platforms. CDG Express will then connect to the Paris-Nord tracks via a new double-track link. This link passes under the CAP 18 industrial park, between Croix de l’Évangile to the east and Parc Chapelle-Charbon to the west, requiring the excavation of a 330-meter cut-and-cover tunnel. The connection will then emerge at the former La Chapelle-Charbon station before crossing Boulevard Ney on a viaduct and joining the Paris-Nord rail network. From Porte de la Chapelle, the line will run alongside the RER B, using the express tracks of the La Plaine to Hirson line. From Villeparisis-Mitry-le-Neuf, the CDG Express joins a new 6 km dedicated track, capable of speeds up to 150 km/h, parallel to the LGV Interconnexion high-speed rail line as far as Tremblay-en-France. From there, it enters a one-kilometer tunnel under runways 2 and 4 of the airport, to reach its terminus at Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 2 TGV station. Four elevators and five escalators then connect to the airport terminal.

Passengers with a monthly or annual Navigo pass benefit from a 34% discount, and passengers under 16 years of age travel free. Preferential subscriptions will also be offered to airport platform employees. The CDG Express is complementary to and connected with all other modes of transport: train, RER, metro, bus, taxi, and ride-hailing services. It will connect with numerous lines of the Île-de-France network: RER B, D, and E; Transilien trains H, K, and P; Metro lines 2, 4, 5, and 7; and many bus lines. These trains will be able to carry up to 420 seated passengers (depending on the number of carriages) in air-conditioned carriages with ample luggage space. Passengers will also find screens providing information on flights scheduled at Roissy, Wi-Fi, USB ports, a train manager (a bilingual French-English agent who can assist tourists), and even sofas. There’s a real sense of spaciousness, plenty of luggage racks, areas for people with reduced mobility, restrooms, and a baby changing table. There will even be a “premium” area with 12 seats at the front of the train, allowing for work in complete privacy.
