This is Vannes !!!

I have a lot of posts on my wonderful capital City of Vannes in my blog. In my quest to have the latest info I decided to combine four posts (yes ! )into one as they were very much related, The memories of it all will be kept and of course updated with new text and links for you and me, The city has a gorgeous original architecture untouched by wars with a wonderful canal into the Gulf of Morbihan, one of the most beautiful harbors in the world (conde nast, great bays etc) which of course takes you into the Atlantic ocean, all full of islands paradise. Let me bring you up to date on Vannes,in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, Therefore, here is my take on this is Vannes !!! Hope you enjoy it as I,

My oldest boy was working and only had the middle of the day free, and my other twin boy was getting his storage box on his Yamaha bike which he is totally out for it, he was call the part had arrive. And off we went with precision timing so all meet at the bike place in Vannes. This is Morbihan Moto with plenty of parking to meet a bike and two cars! As the installation was to take over an hour, we decided to have lunch . This we did to one popular family place here which is very French, Flunch or as the founder thought of, Flunch=family lunch. They are cafeterias with an all you can eat option and a main plate with all the trimming of desserts, drinks, wines beers etc.

In between we got some electronic gadgets at another dandy store we like and been clients since opening a few years back. Electro Depot, they sell all you need for the modern world! And it is right next to a huge restaurant cluster we enjoy and the Cinema. So we drove over to FNAC, Darty, BUT, Boulanger, and finally the Espace Culturel E. Leclerc. This is in the centre commecial E Leclerc where we do our groceries sundry items and my boys go into the cultural center, which a store apart in the shopping center.

We go often for pickup at Domino’s Pizzas store in Vannes as we are used to them from back old home of Florida, From here we went to our fav wine store, Nicolas, where the foire aux vins or wine fair was beginning , and why not match our pizzas ! Here took advantage in the same Place du Poids Public there is the La Belle Iloise store and got us our favorite fish soup!

To fully enjoy the day we walk a bit around our favorite spots from the Place du Poids Public into the rue Saint Vincent and the Place des Lices. Here we had the chance to see the petit train in action! The area was lively as always. There is old reliable the Halle aux Poissons or fish market and the Halles des Lices, covered market as well; these are a must while in town.

I do come always by car. The rest of my family have done the bus and of course my boys for school done it more. The best parking to come into the city and be worry free for the rest of the day are the one handle by Indigo at above and underground parking pl de la République. And those handle by Q-Park such as underground parkings of Centre, du Port ,and pl de la Loi. My twins waiting in the shade pic 2nd below!

And we have to use the post office and very conveniently located as the main Post Office of Vannes is  at 25 place de la République running along rue Thiers. This is the back from parking République.

There you go folks, we are in France; la vie en rose or la vie est belle! Salut. One bit of up close and personal post of daily life in my neck of the woods. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
