The Halles of Redon !!

We love markets and any town we go to we need to visit them and many times shop as well. This one is no different the market in Redon is nice. Let me update this older post with new text and links for you and me. I bring you back to the markets of my belle France and especially those of my lovely Bretagne. This time in Ille et Vilaine dept 35, Therefore, here is my take on the halles of Redon !! Hope you enjoy it as I,

I passed by here sometimes on my train rides to Paris and of course by car several times. As the market was is and will be one of the highlights of our lives in France,we love them all. This one is brief but worth the detour , me think.  The Halles de Redon dates from the 19C, and were renovated in 2012 to offer more brightness and friendliness. They now welcome about thirty traders who sell their local or organic products. Fruits, vegetables, meat, fish (from the ports of the mouth of the Vilaine river ), and cold cuts. As it should be in Gallo country, a good market cannot be complete without the inevitable cake-sausage. Opening all mornings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday under the halles, Also, the larger market is open Mondays 8h30 to 13h October to April and 8h to 14h May to September,.Do not miss the galettes de Solange in the market black wheat bio delicious.

I like to include in this post a memorable spot where we had our breads and sandwiches while visiting Redon a couple of times. Even if today is closed, I like to put it up here for the memories of always stopping by with the family. The building is timbered house, very nice indeed. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
