I like to tell you more with new older pictures in my blog on this off the beaten path monument of Guérande, Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on the Chapelle Notre Dame la Blanche of Guérande  !! The Chapelle Notre-Dame-la-Banche,at place Notre-Dame-la-Blanche in Guérande, A bit on it on hard to come by information tell us that the sources concerning the building of Notre-Dame la Blanche are not known. Perhaps damaged by the Guérande pillage done by Louis of Spain in 1342, It was built on walls of 1.10 meters thick, a nave of six spans. 27.50 meters long and 9.50 meters wide, this single vessel ends in the east with three cut sides. the chapel includes on its western facade backpack a cartridge signaling its construction by the Duke of Brittany JeIt an de Montfort in 1348. This is where the second peace treaty of Guérande passed between the Duchy of Brittany and the Kingdom of France was signed in 1381. The patronage right of the Notre-Dame de la Blanche Chapel has at least belonged since 1571 to the Lord of Careil in the City of Guérande.

.The Chapelle Notre-Dame la Blanche seems to lose status during the 16C; simple chapel, it now belongs to the Saint-Aubin Collegiate Church (see post). A cartridge placed six seats above the oculus of the western facade welcomes the date of 1712, Sold as a national property during the French revolution in 1796, the chapel then served as a discount and a fodder store. The sacristy is destroyed and a cart door pierces the bedside. Dismembered in numerous occasions during the first half of the 19C, the chapel was thus described by the opposition to the municipal council on December 17, 1848: the destruction of its bell tower, its vaults, its stained glass, its tombs, the removal of the altar and any religious sign , finally all mutilation makes it a chapel which is religious only in the name. All these were gradually replaced over the years I am told and can be seen now.

.Around the chapel, rue du Pilori, a beautiful half -timbered house ,known as the potter’s house or blue house dating from the 15C and 17C is worth a look.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
