We are in summer, and we have boundless beauties in my belle France and especially in my lovely Bretagne ! I set out again to known and new territories in my road warrior mode of always that took me to neighboring departments in the north of Brittany, I came back again to the beautiful wonderful stunning corsair City of Saint Malo !!. My idea was to see old and new so I came back to do some walk warrior trails, and of course, we ate ! Believe or not my first encounter with Saint Malo was way back in 2012 to meet a local friend of travel forum native of England, former taxi driver in Paris and about 40 years in France ! We later came back again several times and my dear late wife Martine enjoyed much, This was and is the Créperie des Bés at 4, rue Thévenard. This was a find that actually I chose to eat with our friend ! And he liked it too ! It is tops, and well recommended by all. It was initially recommended to me by collegues at work ! No reservations taken we waited a bit but nice friendly service as always.
Le Castello Pizzeria & Grill 5 Rue Jacques Cartier We were looking for our old spot Bistrot de Cartier and it was closed gone ! So we look across the street and saw this place quite quant good ambiance we took the plunge and what a find, A new spot in Saint Malo for us and will be back ! The welcome is arguiably smiling and very friendly in this intramural pizzeria, along the ramparts, in the middle of the rue de la thirst, between the Porte Saint-Vincent and the Grand-Porte. The food here ,everything is homemade and prepared from fresh products. Good value for your money,
I had the Lasagna al Forno delicious with a bottle of Santa Sofia Bardolino rosé nice smooth went well with the meal, My son had mussels in cream and curry all good, all for 21 euros per person, we will be back eventually,

We hit a new spot here but already used to it from Vannes, this is the Columbus Café, 3 Rue de la Vieille Boucherie , and my boys love it. At lovely quant rue de la Vieille Boucherie walking in sublime Saint Malo, on a out terrase not seem from the street at first but very nice romantic place I would say. Here missing my pastrami bagel had to settle for a club sandwich that was big and good, wash down with peach ice tea, a bowl of mix fruits and finish with a chocolate praline cold drink! Always tops me think. At a lovely quant street in sublime Saint Malo, on an outdoor terrase not seem from the street at first but very nice romantic place I would say. Here we ate again on another trip, and had our muffins of different sorts, carrot cake and me with ice coffee, the boys others , Always tops me think. For 10 euros per person fine.

We follow up one evening with the family to our usual beer and burger joint never to be overlook by yours truly. We hit a new spot in Café Burgers Knop right by the intramuros ramparts at 1 Place Guy la Chambre (sadly found out it has closed). What a pleasant surprise this Knop! This is a local chain and it is very good. We just walked in like that and was awesome right by the ramparts intra muros meaning inside the closed city. Very friendly and nice welcome to our dog Rex too, he had his fries and water! A very nice decoration , with beautiful monkey lamps!. Come and feast on gourmet burgers , and great beers. The products are fresh and homemade, the meat is cooked perfectly and the fries are crisp! I tried the Knop! with a nice Duchesse Anne triplet local beer from the Morbihan! Quality at a very reasonable price. Charming welcome from the friendly and smiling team. Left it here for the memories of always.
And for the nights ,we had our bash at Bistrot de Cartier (sadly closed) at 6 rue Jacques Cartier, for a nice round of beers with the boys. I tried first the SAS 5% Belgian beer that was very delicious, and my sons had different ones as well Belgians, (hommel beer, and Kriek cherry) origins. The welcome was nice and a bowl of water for our dog Rex! And of course, the best looking girl in all Saint Malo!! the owner. We were back and will again ,eventually. Well we were back August 2024 and it is closed sadly !!! On this post for the memories of always.
We stopped by for the memories of always to the Glacier Artisan Sanchez ice cream extraordinaire! Located at 9 Rue de la Vielle Boucherie, This is sublime on the streets of Saint Malo for glorious ice cream, now churros, etc a spot to stop by. We hit it again as usual here and a must the Glacier Artisan Sanchez ice cream, I had the humble 3 scoops and my boys had as much as 5! different flavors mine was the usual coconut and chocolate, all nicely done and good size to be eaten on the streets! Of course, each time there we tried different flavors always good, sublime on the streets of Saint Malo.

We went by the pl Chateaubriand and saw for the memories of always the hotel we stayed in overnights in Saint Malo, this is the Hôtel de l’Univers ; 64 rooms including 17 family rooms that can accommodate up to 6 persons. The hotel is opened since 1850. This mythical bar of Intra-muros, born in 1923, long housed the first yacht club of the corsair city. It has remained a rallying point for sailors and Saint-Malo residents. The corsair chests that serve as a counter alone take you on a journey through time and the seas of the world.
