We had our usual quiet day in my town of Pluvigner so we set out for our usual errands in Vannes, and after all the effort decided to celebrate by going to the Holly’s diner restaurant located in the shopping center Carrefour, My boys have been here and it was my turn to come with them to try it, This is Vannes ,in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne region, and in my belle France, Let me tell you a bit on the Holly’s Diner of Vannes !!! They claim to be authentically American but deliciously French, to make customers live a real experience for 10 years, The history of the Holly’s Diner franchise began in 2014 in France.Damien Vallar created the concept and opened its first restaurant in Tours. Today, 23 restaurants have opened, in its own (under the holding company) or in franchise.

My experience was superbe, We first asked if Rex our dog was allow in and they told yes in the terrace as usual, he enjoy and was a very good boy laying under our table, I came to try their milkshakes and had the strawberry nutella, also a banana split, with a pepsi drink, all good, My sons had different types but along the same line, However, for what we had and 23,+ euros is a bit overprice, just saying.

The Holly’s Diner are on a 500 m² restaurant with 200 m² of terrace.The decoration, furniture and colored colors (blue, red, yellow) typical of Google style transport customers to the American world of cinemascope and the space conquest, You see waitresses in the time dresses , and servers dressed in GI. Finally, the restaurant offers entertainment that can go from karaoke, including dance lessons, to Pin’Up evenings to fake weddings like in Las Vegas.

Holly’s Diner is above all a human adventure that keeps growing up to bring you back the American dinner of the 50s and 60s. They claim all their products are carefully selected to guarantee the quality of the recipes: baker’s bread, fresh French chopped steak, a selection of refined cheeses, at will, our Holly’s premium sauces, without forgetting our own ice cream and craft beers.

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
