The Grande Plage of Carnac, part III !!!

I went out on a nice sunny Saturday to one of my local hangouts, the coastal Morbihan is awesome ! And Carnac is tops , even if written plenty in my blog, do see my posts, However, again stop by today for a leisure tour with the boys and our dog Rex ,and here is more of the Grande plage of Carnac, part III !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

Again, for reference and the new readers , the town of Carnac is indeed two. There is Carnac bourg or city center inland ,and there is Carnac plage or beach,along the ocean where the beaches are of course. Both are about 2 km away. Oh yes this is south of me 28 km in my beautiful  Morbihan  dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France!

Well, this is our favorite beach in Carnac , Clear water, fine sand and 2 km long, the Grande Plage or big beach is a treat for bathers and sunbathers. The Grande Plage is the largest of the five beaches in the city. In summer, swimming is supervised and water sports can be practiced safely. Two beach clubs set up there each summer. To the west of the beach, the Yacht Club welcomes you all year round to experience all kinds of snow sports intensely. A few steps away, you will find many restaurants and shops. The beach is also accessible to people with motor disabilities thanks to adapted equipment, all this with the presence of qualified staff with bathing assistance, cloakroom, adapted shower and wc. The reception point is open from the 1st weekend in July to the last weekend in August inclusive, every day from 13h to 19h. Possibility of parking along the boulevard de la plage. No dogs allowed on the beach but yes on the boulevard.

The Grande Plage faces south ,it is separated from the beach boulevard by small dunes. The boulevard has a long seafront promenade starting at the Yacht Club de Carnac and ending at Pointe Churchill. Many activities are offered at the entrance to the big beach. Children’s club, beach restaurant (Le Fisher),and longe-coast center (sea walking).

While you are at the Grande Plage , a bit on the beach now.  A beach bar installed Le Fisher club like its twin previously opened in Quiberon, dressed in wood and white, the Fisher is a refreshing bath that comes alive all day long… You can peacefully have your coffee there in the morning, have lunch on the go and then comes the sacred hour of aperitif! Fresh rosé and tapas are timely!

Our favorites and went today again is the  L’Igloo, 56 avenue des Druides ,for the ice cream lover in us ! 5€ for two scoops for me, salted caramel and brownies ! My sons had different flavors and even our dog Rex got a taste of all, and he love it !! Great family deal at a popular place! No webpage

Another nostalgic place we came here way back since coming to the area when it was name the Memes Tra across from the Grande Plage /beach, Then it change name to Lulu à la plage brasserie, good it has gone better;but the views right at the main entrance to the beach is superbe, and very close to the shopping area on Avenue Miln ,No webpage,

There you go folks, again, so much to see in Carnac plage, beachside. This is one town to come with the whole family if ever in this corner of the world. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
