This is Guangzhou !!

I like to have this in a single post, just for the memories of always, Another spot in my world map , this is Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China. I was lucky in a way to have worked in companies with an international outlook and able to travel very often for many years. I have other posts on China, but this is older pictures on a familiar transit airport, Therefore, here is my take on this is Guangzhou !!  Hope you enjoy the post as I. china-guangzhou-hall-b-lobby-oct13 I had to cross landed and walk in it on several occasions on my flights to Asia even to Indonesia, and Philippines but more time to Qingdao, Shandong province in China! My departure airport or home base was at Nantes Atlantique in Loire Atlantique dept 44 of Pays de la Loire region, old Brittany ! Many trips to the world from here over the years 2011 to 2019 ! Several times to catch the flights needed to come a day earlier and use the airport hotels, flying Air France to connect at Roissy CDG with China Southern Airlines, changing again depending on the country also with Garuda Airlines ,Philippines Airlines Cathay Pacific, China airlines, and/or China Eastern. The official name is Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou, in the province of Guangdong) , China. This is a failry new airport, located 28 km from the city center  with only one runway in the city, in the District of Baiyun Mountain (white Cloud) and have a larger platform, able to accommodate greater traffic. It keeps the same name and codes as the old one. The airport is served by the Guangzhou Metro Line 3, airport South station which is the terminus.  There are 5 Airport Express bus lines and 6 Airport Non-stop lines to round-trip between airport and downtown. The airport is connected to downtown Guangzhou by the S41 Guangzhou Airport Expressway in a 6 lanes road time told is est at 35 minutes. Taxis are available at arrivals area, Guangfo West Ring Line is about 47 km long, of which about 16.5 km in Guangzhou and 30.5 km in Foshan. It consists of 9 stations: except for the existing Guangzhou North Station and Foshan West Station, 7 new stations will be built, including Shishan East, Dalan, Guangyao South, Hegui, Tanbu, Huadugang and Shenshan North. The planned five-year construction is estimated to last to September 2027. guangzhou-airport-express-bus-oct13 The terminal 1 has three components, Main Terminal, Area A and Area B. All check-in counters and most retail stores are placed at the Main Terminal. The two concourses controlled by individual security checkpoints, named Area A and Area B, are the boarding gates, security checkpoints, border control, custom & quarantine, baggage reclaim and relative facilities. china-guangzhou-hall-b-oct13 The Terminal 2 opened on 26 April 2018, with an area measuring over 808,700 square metres, making it one of the world’s largest airport terminal facilities. It home to China Southern Airlines. Most SkyTeam member airlines will also typically operate in Terminal 2 You can indulge if frequent travelers like I was the China Southern First/Business Class Lounge at International Departures, The Novotel Guangzhou Baiyun Airport is ideally located between the departure halls of Terminal T1 and Terminal T2. guangzhou-entrance-hall-b-oct13 The old Baiyun Airport opened in 1932. Due to the expansion of Guangzhou, the airport could not expand to meet passengers needs as buildings surrounded the airport. On 5 August 2004, the new Baiyun Airport opened and the old airport was closed. Guangzhou is nearly five times larger than its predecessor.  After the expansion, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will have three terminals, a satellite concourse, five runways and a high-speed railway station. The airport will be able to handle 120 million passengers, 3.8 million tons freight and 775,000 aircraft movements a year. The whole expansion project is estimated to be finished in 2025. FedEx Express has the new Asia-Pacific hub here. The new Asia-Pacific hub covers an area of approximate 63 hectares (160 acres), with a total floor space of 82,000 square meters (880,000 sq ft), The Guangzhou hub was, at the time of the opening, the largest FedEx hub outside the United States, but it was later surpassed by the expanded hub at Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport ,The first flight that arrived at the new FedEx Asia-Pacific hub originated from Indianapolis International Airport. The MD-11 aircraft landed at 11:07 pm at Baiyun International Airport from Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris, marking the opening and full operations of the new Asia-Pacific hub. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
