Our get together in Batz sur Mer !!!

I need to tell you about my nice memories coming to Batz sur Mer, Friends from work lived in Guerande (see posts) ,and while visiting them took off on a ride here to see and eat out , sublime coastal beauty we love it ! This is to remember the town and the friends who for work reason are now in Québec Canada and just used to keep in touch by whatsapp. For the memories of always, here is our get together in Batz sur Mer !! The town is a picturesque quaint beach resort of the nice and chic in Batz sur Mer, dept 44 of the Loire Atlantique in Pays de la Loire region. Old Brittany….and in my belle France, The wild coast of the Guérande peninsula is part of the Côte d’Amour. It is a rocky fringe of the coast which actually extends on the western coast of the Croisic peninsula on the territory of the commune of Batz-sur-Mer. We got to it down on the N165 and by La Roche Bernard get on the D774 towards Guérande past it straight to the coast and Batz sur Mer ! Sublime road warrior ride !

I have written on some things to see before, but for reference these are the Church of Saint Guénolé ,built in the 14-15C on the site of an older church dedicated to Saint Cyr and his mother Saint Julitte, which the monks of Landévennec placed under the protection of Saint Guénolé, the founder of their monastery and patron saint.

The site is the old fishing port of the village of Batz the Port Saint-Michel Standing on the cliff, a 3 m megalith called the long stone or menhir Saint-Michel, served as a landmark, for daytime maritime navigation. The Port Saint-Michel is a marina and beach shown more as a harbor but it has a small beach very nice that is very popular with locals. 

 We went to the harbor port Saint Michel where we had our lunch at the Café de la  Plage, wonderful family service, where I had a cassoulet de la mer or sea casserole of shrimp, scallops and fish with a nice vegetable lettuce and a bottle of Kerisec cider, the others had different servings from mussels with Roquefort cheese , tagliatelles bolognaise, and four cheeses pizzas, desserts from bounty coconuts ice cream to banana splits , and of course another bottle of Kerisec cider brut.  The price we could not know as our friendly friends lol!! went ahead and pay for all five of us the bill !!! yes nice friends! And wishing they be back, you are reading this !!!

There you you go folks, nice easy road warrior ride and great company to boot, a great combination ; always looking forward to repeat ,eventually, In all, a short but pleasant trip to the beautiful old Bretagne, with the sea at its best, nice area indeed! Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
