The Halles or covered market of Guerlédan !

I like to tell you about the new town of Guerlédan, but not let them fool you the best here is in the old now part of the new, this is Mur de Bretagne with a lot history of my Bretagne.   Guerlédan is a town in the Côtes-d’Armor Dept 22 of my lovely region of Bretagne, and in my belle France. The town was born from the consolidation of the towns of Mur-de-Bretagne (see post) and Saint-Guen, which became delegated towns in January 2017. Its admintrative base is still at Mur-de-Bretagne. Again, I like to tell you with new pictures on the Halles or covered market of Guerlédan, Hope you enjoy it as I.

Built in 2016, the Halles or covered market on rue de l’Église have energized the city center of Guerlédan, Every Friday, from 16h, the halles come alive with a small food market which brings together a dozen traders in winter and around thirty street vendors, whose stalls overflow into the streets around the church.  Today, local associations make it a place for reunions such as the Celtic circle which organized its 24 hours of potato pancakes there, the Guerlédan-Sarria (Lugo province of Galicia) twinning committee for welcoming the Spanish or even the town for the festival of St. Patrick’s Day.

The Halles or covered market, inaugurated in June 2019, were renamed under the name of Hervé Le Lu. He was mayor of the former town Mûr-de-Bretagne from 2014 to 2016, then mayor of the new town of Guerlédan from 2017 until his death on June 24, 2022.
