I came back yesterday to check out one of our favorite hangouts here, Carnac. And, of course, the beaches are tops here. On Carnac ,plenty written on it and lucky to be at 30 minutes from the beaches , the ambiance is it. And Carnac, has plenty of good beaches, I will tell you again no my visited beaches including one new one today ! Therefore, here is my take on the beaches of Carnac ,part III !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
I must admit, our favorite . Clear water, fine sand and 2 km long, the Grande Plage de Carnac is a treat for bathers and sunbathers. The Grande Plage is the largest of the beaches in the city. In summer, swimming is supervised and water sports can be practiced safely. Two beach clubs set up there each summer. A few steps away, you will find many restaurants and shops. Possibility of parking along the Grande Plage on bd de la plage Many activities are offered at the entrance to the lbeach. You can use cabins here for changing The beach is rated A for water safety in France or Pavillon Bleu. You won’t go wrong here, and I tell my family this one can match any and I grew up in beach areas in the Caribbean! Parking is available even right along the beach on the boulevard de la plage , which is the road D186 as well. There are parking spaces along the road.

The Plage de Ty bihan beach is the place to relax for all ages with a breathtaking view of the bay of Quiberon. Each summer, the Dolphins Club sets up there and offers children many activities: gym, swimming pool, group games etc. Possibility of parking along the beach. Ty Bihan beach stretches for about 400 meters. In the distance, on a clear day, you can see the island of Houat. Access to this beach is via the D186 taking Boulevard Légenèse. There are places to park along the road.

The plage de Légenèse beach is located west of the Grande Plage and by the Carnac Yacht Club. This small format beach is very pleasant. In summer, the beach comes alive with the Marsouins beach club. There are parking spaces along the road right next to the beach. The Légenèse beach is an ideal place for swimming. Lined with rocks, the beach offers a beautiful sandy and sheltered area. The beach is a family beach that stretches for about 400 meters. It is delimited by two rocky areas. Légenèse is a pleasant and well-equipped beach, but does not have lifeguards during the summer season. Access to this beach is from the Port en Dro by the D186 taking Boulevard Légenèse. There are parking spaces along the road right next to the beach.

The plage de Saint Colomban beach is the most west of Carnac. all year round, The Saint-Colomban beach has a supervised swimming area, public toilets and a club for learning to windsurf. The beach faces west, so it is often subject to strong winds. The west wind makes it an ideal spot for windsurfers. Continuing on the coastal path that runs along the seaside hide small cliffs, small white sand beaches and several coves less crowded than the main beach. The small bay offers a popular setting for a Stand-up Paddle (SUP) or canoe-kayak ride in the middle of the oyster beds. Access to this beach is by following the D186 until Avenue des Dunes, Parking available along the beach.

The plage de Kérivor beach is not well known, except by locals. So what about these creeks located nearby, at the western tip of Carnac and facing west and the Quiberon peninsula? Fine sandy beaches well exposed and almost deserted in August, it’s a discovery. Here, a large cove alternates with other smaller ones where everyone can find their place. No equipment and you have to walk a little to get there, however you have certain freedoms prohibited elsewhere, Wonderful find and we will be back quiet nice place to play with my boys ! The beach is not mentioned in tourist offices nor the City of Carnac ! You go there by the Chemin de Kerivor , there is parking at Parking Pointe du Po, and just next to it are the viviers de Saint Colomban for great oysters and mussels !! etc etc tastings, purchase and we get them at the fish market of Auray!! On site come every day in summer from Easter and every school holiday from 9h30 to 19h non-stop! You can see the beach on their webpage : https://viviersdesaintcolomban.fr/viviers/en/home-2/
