Many think , that I only drive a car in my belle France, (indeed a road warrior!), but if you know Europe and France you know that would be too one sided. I do take all forms of public transport over the years. I do prefer to go into the city by car but once inside prefer, to walk and if too much take the bus !! Oh yeah some think the metro is a tourist attraction but why come to see the most beautiful city in the world underground!!! Above ground is much better, believe me! I have written several posts on transports and in Paris, but found me new older pictures of my bus travels there, see my other posts on bus travel in Paris. Therefore, here is my take on my memories of bus 95 of Paris. Hope you enjoy the post as I.
A briefer, Paris had 104 km last info I could find on bus lanes, 68 km of secure lanes and 19 km of bus lanes in the opposite direction. The average length of Parisian lines is 10 km. One of my fav bus lines was created in June 3, 1946, the bus 95 going now from the Porte de Vanves to the Porte de Montmartre, It covers last count 56 RATP stops/stations serving in particular major touristic places in Paris.
My bus line 95 route has been use to connect from Gare Saint Lazare stop at 34 Rue de Rome to the getway back home at Gare Montparnasse stop at Place Raoul Dautry, This is a wonderful route that even can be use as a tourist ride seen many sights in Paris me think, The ride alone takes about 28 minutes on good trafic, The bus starts from Rue de Rome outside Gare Saint Lazare bearing right into Rue Pasquier and right into Bd Haussmann and near the Church Saint Augustin ; the nice Avenue de Franklin Delano Roosevelt ,into the beautiful Avenue des Champs-Elysées, into the chic Avenue Montaigne for a short turnaround back into the C-E, not far from the Théâtre du Marigny and Théâtre du Rond Point, see the Statue to Gen De Gaulle before turning right into the nice Avenue Winston Churchill with on both sides the glorious Grand Palais and Petit Palais ! Quick turn left into the Cours de la Reine along the Seine river before crossing the Pont des Invalides straight into Bd de la Tour-Marbourg ,very close to the monumental Hôtel des Invalides (Army museum and Napoléon tomb etc), Continue right into Avenue de la Motte-Picquet ,take left into Avenue Dusquesne and near the historical école militaire, continue taking right into Avenue de Breteuil and its wonderful garden areas, into the Place Breteuil taking a right into Avenue de Saxe, and a quick left into Rue de Sévres, then right into Bd du Montparnasse, and right into Rue de l’Arrivéé and into Place Raoul Dautry and the Gare de Montparnasse, Always a very nice smooth splendid ride with all the beauty of Paris before me/you !
The ride on bus 95 criss cross Paris from the station located under Place de la Porte-de-Vanves, at the start of Rue Julia-Bartet. it is inserted between the stations Plaisance and Malakoff – Plateau de Vanves, The end ride is at the Porte de Montmartre which is a small gate in Paris located 500 meters from the Porte de Clignancourt and 500 meters from the Porte de Saint-Ouen , This gate dates from the Thiers wall period, it is on Boulevard Ney, at the junction with Rue du Poteau and Avenue de la Porte-de-Montmartre. The full ride takes you to places such as the Porte de Vanves, C.-Rigoulot Stadium, Monfort-Théâtre , Georges-Brassens Park, Pasteur Institute, La Poste Museum, Gare Montparnasse, Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés , Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church, Paris-Descartes University, Quai Voltaire, Louvre Museum, Palais-Royal, Comédie-Française, Place de l’Opéra, Opéra Garnier, Lycée Condorcet, Boulevard Haussmann, Gare Saint-Lazare, Place de l’Europe, Place de Clichy, Lycée Jules-Ferry, Montmartre Cemetery, Porte de Montmartre, Bichat-Claude-Bernard Hospital). This is estimated to be done in 1h19 minutes,on good trafic.
