The national military camp of St-Cyr Coëtquidan at Guer !

Guer is located in my beautiful Morbihan department 56, in my lovely Bretagne of my belle France. It is bordering the Paimpont forest, often identified as the mythical forest of Brocéliande, where the legend of Merlin the enchanter, the fairy Morgane and the fairy Viviane is woven. Indeed magical area ! We came back to it for the town and its monuments and it was great, Do see my other posts on the town in my blog, Let me tell you a bit more of the national military camp and museum of St Cyr Coëtquidan of Guer and hope you enjoy the post as I.

This is something I have been trying to visit for years, Each time on my road warrior trips we just passed by it, Once we tried and it was closed, This time was no luck as well as it was closed too, Road warrior we really do not care for opening hours as we can always come back ,and we will until we can get it, For the meantime this is set in my blog as a reminder , This is a military academy with barracks ,housing, and leisure buildings on a large area, Anyway, hope you enjoy the post on knowing about it ,you can eventually visit it….

An important element in Guer for the military history buffs is the military camp famous since after the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.  The national military camp of St-Cyr Coëtquidan is located south of the forest of Brocéliande. With an area of 5253 hectares, it covers 6 towns: Campénéac (1 945 ha), Beignon (1 597 ha), Augan (568 ha), Porcaro (491 ha), Guer (358 ha) and Saint-Malo de Beignon (75 ha). The camp currently is hosting 3 military schools, As usual was closed for the museum not steady hours and as we are road warriors just pop in but do need to come back worth it me think, The official webpage:
