The Château Le Plessis-Josso dates from the Middle Ages. This castle is located east of the town of Theix-Noyalo, near Vannes. This Breton feudal complex still has its fortified enclosure with its crenellated towers and walls which protected it from the armed bands and looters that raged in the region during the Religious Wars of the 16C. Built around 1330 by Sylvestre Josso, ducal squire, during the turbulent period of the War of the Succession of Brittany in the 14C. it then passed by marriage into the powerful Rosmadec family and served as a residence for important figures such as a bishop, seneschals and governors of Breton towns. At the end of the 18C by 1786, it became the property of the Le Mintier de Léhélec family, who still live there today.
