Coastal Locmariaquer!!

And here I am on a cloudy cool day at 6C in my neck of the woods in the Morbihan breton dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and my belle France. It was time again to have a ride sadly with the virus situation most is closed if not all so the trips becomes dull. I came back with my Dad and twin boys to visit Locmariaquer by the coast of the Morbihan. Hope you enjoy these new pictures and new post on a familiar place in my blog.

I am not going on a long text as already plenty on Locmariaquer in my blog, you can search for the posts. I will describe the new pictures to you. You will be pleasantly surprise of the nice town with its beaches, megaliths stones etc. It is about 31 km or about 19 miles from my house.

Of course, always a good idea to stop by the tourist office either on site or online before getting to a new place; this is just at the entrance to the bourg or town on the D781 road.

We then hit city center or bourg and we saw our nice convenience grocery store always good to have in these towns, we have a similar one but of different chain. This is the SPAR grocery stores!

We went around one of the places by the bay to get fresh oysters, mussels, seafood galore of course only take home now. Plenty of them around here lol! the source!!! Not ours but a reputable one as well.

By the pointe de Kerpenhir there are remnants of another era  WWII bunkers now graciously graffitti painted on the beach!

This pointe de Kerpenhir is wonderful with a very nice beach and plenty of picnics and parking along the beach. We love to come here even in winter and walked and now dog walked our Rex too althought not this time.

We did passed the nice Church of Notre Dame de Kerdro by the port of Locmariaquer, very nice indeed (see post).

And we nostalgic passed by the port and the Place Dariorigum facing the marina and its wonderful restaurants we have patronised in the past such as the Crêperie Les Ïles and the Hôtel l’Escale resto. Sad to see them this empty now.

And on the way back we passed by the Site of Megaliths of Locmariquer and its wonderful tumulus a Unesco heritage site and even if smaller than in neighboring Carnac, an impressive stone as well. By the way the site is translated into English and Breton from the French::)

And remember, happy travels, good health, and many cheers to all!!!
