Some of the nice things happening to me was to work in Paris while living in Versailles in my early entry into France, a citizen since 2000.  I like to tell you briefly the shopping as my dear late wife Martine love it, this post is for the memories of always.  Therefore, here is my take on how about shopping in Paris !!! The Centre Commerciale Beaugrenelle shopping center is located in the Javel and Grenelle quartiers/ neighborhoods of the 15éme district/arrondissement of Paris. Inaugurated on October 23, 2013, it covers an area of ​​45,000 m² and houses 110 stores, a department store, restaurants, and a multiplex cinema. The first Beaugrenelle shopping center was built in 1979 as part of the Front-de-Seine urban renewal project (it includes one of the highest concentrations of high-rise buildings in the city). It was demolished to build the new one, The center comprises three sections: The Panoramic section: a Marks & Spencer department store, the largest in Europe (which left the center in 2018), a branch of Galeries Lafayette since November 12, 2019. a 15-screen Pathé multiplex cinema with an interior designed by Ora-ïto (replacing the Mk2 cinema), and ten restaurants with views of the Seine, including Krispy Kreme,Indiana Café, Ladurée , Italian Trattoria, and Starbucks, The Magnetic section: multi-brand fashion, home decor, leisure, and culture. The City hub: inaugurated in 2009, the Express hub offers proximity access to everyday shops and services from the Post Office to the toy store. It is located at 12 rue Linois, acces on métro line 10 Charles Martell station,

The Orange telephone, internet etc store that I frequent very convenient as it was on my to work and back was at Place de la Madeleine just in front of the metro exit, Over the years , I have suggested the store to many visitors looking to hook up cellular/mobile phones to use while in France. The staff there was very knowledgeable and spoked English/Spanish! Orange is a telecommunications chain providing Internet and telephone services and portable devices. My fav store while working in Paris was at 16 place de la madeleine,it was the biggest in the city and easily connection right there with metro lines 8, 12, and 14. Just walking by or up from the metro station the store was on your back. Now the store is gone, here for the memories, The current closest store is at 6 Rue du Havre near the Gare Saint Lazare train station …

Another mythical store of mine in Paris was Monoprix.  Briefly, they have been around for more than 80 years, and has maintained its ambition to make the good and the beautiful accessible to all. It shows a wide choice of quality products: food, drinks, beauty, hygiene. Also find an exclusive fashion collection. I have passed by this particular store at 51 Rue Réaumur, however news made me come back for it while still working in  Paris. The  Monoprix -Réaumur-Sébastopol, in the 2éme arrondissement, which is located on the site of the old medieval hospital of the Trinity, made it possible to discover in 2015 many pits and human bones linked to the hospital cemetery ! This became news all over  Paris  so obviously was there so take a peek to where it was allowed, far away, The store was closed for archeological research for quite some time and folks were directed to the store at 95 Bd Sébastopol,

A bit of history on the building is interesting for the architecture and history of it that I like. The Monoprix Réaumur-Sébastopol store, is in a former Félix-Potin building, and was built on the site of the former Trinité hospital, founded in the 12C and destroyed at the end of the 18C during the French revolution. In 2015, they have found eight mass graves, Seven of them received between five and twenty-five individuals. The eighth, much larger, counts one hundred and fifty deceased who seem to have died on the same date and bear witness to a crisis of mortality whose cause will have to be found. Many diseases going on in Paris at the time. The building itself is with a polychrome corner rotunda, decorative elements in the round: garlands of fruit, caduceus, attributes of Hermes. Former headquarters of Félix Potin chain stores. Félix Potin opened his first store in Paris in 1844. In 1860, he inaugurated the first large store on two levels, boulevard de Sébastopol in Paris. After the death of Félix Potin in 1871, his heirs registered the Félix Potin brand in 1886. Everything followed and success grew. A Félix Potin factory is built in La Villette. It will be enlarged in 1864 and will include a distillery and a chocolate factory. The store on boulevard Malesherbes will open in 1864 and the home delivery service will be put into service in 1870 , Currently the ground floor (1 fl US) and the first floor (2nd fl US) are occupied by the Monoprix store.The store can be reach on Metro Réaumur-Sébastopol of lines 3 and 4 as well as bus lines 38/39/47 Réaumur-Sébastopol stop/arrêt.

I can deal with sports especially football/soccer and love music, arts, wine collector/drinker, and go out to restaurants, and just visit the world. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
