The museums of Lisle sur Tarn !!!

Let me bring you back to update this older post with new pictures from my cd rom vault and some older paper pictures to share with you and me, A wonderful memory to the nostalgic Lisle sur Tarn, in the Tarn deparment no, 81 of the Occitanie region of my belle France. Like I have said, the region is full of amazing small towns all with a rich history on its own,and worth your layover I am sure. The town sits between my other nostalgic cities of Toulouse and Gaillac and in the middle of a wine region, Therefore, this is my take on the museums of Lisle sur Tarn !!! Hope you enjoy this post as I.

The Le Musée Art de Chocolat is right in the place aux couverts aka place Paul Saissac closest to rue Saint Louis upon entering into the town’s center.  The tour is given showing all the major production areas of  cacao, the making of it, the shipping, and of course very good portions of tastings of the end result chocolate from Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Dominican Republic, etc etc etc, just a mouthful, do come over, these are the creation of  maître chocolatier Michel Thomaso-Defos  that makes recreation of figures and places with chocolate done by painter and sculptor Casimir Ferrer ,and sculptors Marie-Madeleine Gautier and  Marta Solsona.

The Museum if the Art of Chocolate is an exhibition space, cultural area and theatre dedicated to chocolate , and there’s even a boutique that is call a ‘chocolatheque’! There’s a permanent exhibition of sculptures and works of art made entirely of chocolate waiting just for you, as well as temporary themed exhibitions and a tasting guide to the ‘grands crus’ of chocolate. The museum also offers tailor-made ‘Discovering Chocolate’ workshops based on themes including wine and chocolate, diet chocolate, tastes and aromas, and making chocolates…Just be here !

The Musée Raymond Lafage invites you for an artistic journey through the centuries. You’ll discover graphic arts from the 17C to the present day: Spread out over 3 levels, come and appreciate the fabulous works of Honoré Daumier, the eminent 19C caricaturist; an etching by Manet, the revolutionary painter who foreshadowed Impressionism; exclusive drawings by Charlie Hebdo; admirable engravings of imaginary landscapes by Gérard Trignac, twice winner of the Velasquez prize; Mikio Watanabé, winner of the Lisle-sur-Tarn Triennial of Intaglio Engravings, undisputed international master of the black manner; and a large collection of drawings by Raymond Lafage, artist, draughtsman and engraver, Michelangelo of his time, exhibited several times at the Louvre, but who died too soon to enjoy the success he deserved

The Musée Raymond Lafage, was at 10 rue Victor Maziés, and now is at the place aux couverts aka place Paul Saissac, It recount the engravings, and drawing of this local artist born here in 1656 and died in 1684 at Lyon , very well known  his work is found in many buildings and museums in France but also in Europe, United States even with individual collectionists
