My memorable visits to Mexico City !!!

I was looking over my older posts since started my blog I notice older posts that needed update and new fresh text/links using older pictures when possible. This is a pity , as is a country where i have visited several times over the years from 1994 to 2018 practically at least once every year. This post will be a compendium of my nostalgic places not much written elsewhere in my blog : of course, in those early times in Florida, very little effort for pictures until 2012 onwards from France, Therefore, here is my take on my memorable visits to Mexico City !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

In those early days I would come from Miami international airport (MIA) to Benito Juarez international airport in Mexico city , This flight was short and nice on business class for many years say from 1994 to 2003 , then continue from Roissy CDG airport until last in 2018) Early on would come every month for several years of glory and many friends still in touch as even spoked today !

I have stayed in several hotels (see post), however, my funny anecdote happened when came with the owner of my company who is/was from Taiwan, I told him to stay at my favorite Royal Amberes but he did not like the cold rooms so ask me to move to other hotel, I saw one across ave Chapultepec that is diagonally from Amberes Zona Rosa and came for it, Lucky rooms were available and took up on the Segovia Regency Hotel ,avenida Chapultepec 328 . It was a pleasant experience but again the anecdote is this hotel had doors closed for security between midnight and 6h or 6am. So we needed clearance each time to get back in lol! Another reason for this post is that speaking with an old friend from there came up with remembering the address of the sales office which he knew, and I decided to give due and do this post, The office back then was at Avenida Progreso corner with Calle Union, Colonia Escandon for a computer parts distribution company (now a Six store there), Many good friends like I said still in touch with several and have met them again on my trips from France, The company has been long gone it close out shortly after I left them for lack of business, It was called Key Micro , The address is within walking distance of the Bosque de Chapultepec forest and its many attractions and very close to the nice Parque Morelos,

Another highlight was when take here first and several times later , This was the Angus Butcher House restaurant on Calle Copenhage 31 ,this branch is closed but will always be in my fond memories, They do have other branches in the city. Steaks are big, beers are cold, and the ladies are all beautiful Memories forever !!! I have one funny picture, all in good taste, Their current sites on Angus: https://www.angus.com.mx/

Another wonderful dining experience back then and were our customers !!! was Sanborns,a chain very popular in Mexico,, Of course, we stop there many times to eat and also to buy essentials electronics. Always had a wonderful time eating ,We went most to the one by Av. P.º de la Reforma 03 Juárez, Cuauhtémoc aka Reforma, 222, Go left side angle categorias to find about all they do, In my early time they were own by the Salinas family, later read were purchase by the Slim family, The official Sanborns:  https://www.sanborns.com.mx/c/restaurante/

I continue my swing of memorable places and ate at Los Panchos in Condesa, Calle Tolstoi 9, Col. Anzures, real local food and very popular, the place was packed.  I tried all different dishes from tacos de carnitas, chicharrones, stuffed peppers , etc etc so much food down with agua de jamaica and agua de leche delicious. Los Panchos since 1945! At least got the menu carte lol !! The official Los Panchos Anzures : https://lospanchos.mx/sucursal-anzures-matriz-restaurant-los-panchos/

There was a wonderful Tezka basque restaurant that you can communicate from the Royal Hotel Amberes.  From 1994 it grew to when I first met them in 2002 and then 2013 it was rank 75 of the 100 best restaurants of the event  World’s 50 Best Restaurants. No longer there, here again just for the memories of always.

I ate on my culinary search at Konditori, at Calle Genova, in the Zona Rosa, the food was ok and great prices, with even greater company. I had filete tampeño and the food was well done. I finally grabbed my Negra Modelo beer here lol!!! The resto founded in 1953 by Danish immigrants was great but unfortunately it closed. Another wonderful memory forever I was first taken here by a friend from the Santa Fe Mall area, many years ago,

I was, also able to eat out outside the city in the State of Mexico in Ecatepec de Morelos. I stop for lunch at Los Bisquets de Obregon at Plaza Las Américas. Av. 1 de Mayo, Jardines de Morelos, local cuisine restaurant with a great cecina steak (salted and dried by means of air, sun or smoke) with mashed potatoes, mexican rice, and mango/papaya juices. Again, taken here by friends from the City, and here for the memories of always glad to have a picture this time, The official Los Bisquets de Obregon:   https://bisquetsobregon.com/sucursales

Some of the memorable spots that were my hanging out areas were the fuente de la Diana Cazadora (eng. Huntress Diana Fountain), a monument located in the roundabout at Paseo de la Reforma and Calle Río Misisipí and Calle Sevilla, on the border of the neighborhoods of Colonia Cuauhtémoc and Colonia Juàrez, and was begun in 1938. Also, the Angel de la Independencia or the Independance Angel is a column located on a roundabout in the end of the Paseo de la Reforma. The column has 36 meters high, and the statue, which weighs 7 tons,  and about 7 meters, for a total of 43 meters. Made with gold leaves.  El Ángel was built in 1910 to celebrate the centenary of the independence of Mexico (September 16 1810 Grito de Dolores) The statue of the Winged Victory located at its summit is inspired and is a quasi-conforming copy of the statue of the Genius of Liberty located on the column of July, Place de la Bastille in Paris, France. I,have posts on them in my blog

As my hotels were around it I became very knowledgable of this area, the Zona Rosa or rose zone neighborhood, It is bordered by Avenue Chapultepec in the south, and to the north the famous Paseo de la Reforma. The Zona Rosa is also known for its nightlife, which makes this space one of the most visited in Mexico City, Many nice memories indeed here and if back will surely visit it again,

These places are full of wonderful memories and great friendship over the years still going on since 1994 ! Mexico City will always be remembered. Again, hope you enjoy this post on my memorable visits to Mexico City !!! as I,
