The inspiration to do this unique post of snow in my town ! Therefore ,here is my take on snow days in Bretagne !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.
Yes it snow in France too and not just the mountains, For info, in my new neck of the woods Pluvigner have not seen snow per se in almost 13 years living here, just flakes a couple of years, Except today, climate change caught us with us eventually, In my town, we had what we can call snow in January 13 2010 ! and with us here on January 4 2021, The pictures are from my front garden to the road, Finally, a white Christmas !!! and Merry Christmas to all my readers and contacts of my blog !!! Joyeux Noël, Feliz Navidad, Feliz Natal !

The region of Brittany/Bretagne/Breizh is renowned for its mild temperatures throughout the year. As a coastal area with a fairly humid climate, Brittany is not particularly prone to snow and extreme cold. If snow is said to be very rare in Brittany, it’s mainly because it falls in small quantities and doesn’t stick to the ground for very long.
The town of Rostrenen, located in the Côtes-d’Armor department no 22, recorded a snow depth of 42 cm on January 10, 2010. Brest, in Finistère dept 29, comes in second as the Brest-Guipavas station recorded 32 cm on February 11, 1983. The city of Quimper saw no less than 28 cm of snow recorded on December 9, 1990. The city of Saint-Brieuc experienced a snow day on December 3 with only 23 cm. Exceptional, since on average it snows less than 1 day a year! Dinard, located on the north coast of the region, 17 cm of snow were recorded on November 6, 1980. For the record, we had16 cm in Nantes on February 1955 or even Lorient and Rennes on February 1966.
A remarkable snowfall event surprised eastern Morbihan and the Guérande peninsula. On on Friday, February 27, 2004, the Ploërmel are had snow. In its monthly report for February 2004, Météo France recorded the following snow depths in Morbihan: 5 cm in Guiscriff, 10 cm in Vannes, 16 cm in Elven, 21 cm in Malestroit, 24 cm in Lizio, 25 cm in Mauron, and 30 cm in Ploërmel. You do the math for info 2.54 cm= 1 inch.
