Again by Port du Crouesty, well this has become a routine if there were other places to see ! I took my boys and our dog Rex and went for it ,another road warrior trip in my beautiful Morbihan, of my lovely Bretagne and my belle France. This is the latest of this week with new pictures around gorgeous Port du Crouesty of Arzon, Therefore, here is my take on curiosities of Port du Crouesty ,part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
Anchored at the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan, the town of Arzon enjoys a prime location for witnessing the spectacular tides. The force of the ocean current rushing into the Gulf can reach 9 knots, making it the second strongest in Europe. Arzon is a town located at the end of the presqu’île de Rhuys ( Rhuys peninsula) ,Along the Quai des Voiliers you have a line up of restos and bars to choose from some already tried and post in my blog for all tastes,
.It has two seaside resorts of very different characters: Port-Navalo, dating from the early 20C (see post) , and Le Crouesty,(see posts) modern seaside resort, in constant development since the 1970s and until today, The port du Crouesty is a marina created in 1973 on the site of a swampy area located at the entrance of the Gulf of Morbihan on the territory of the town of Arzon. It has a brand new tourist office the Golfe du Morbihan Vannes Tourisme – Bureau d’Arzon – Port-Navalo – Port Crouesty at the Rond-point du Crouesty, by the marina.

The Casino JOA is ,also, by the Rond-point du Crouesty just on the other side, I have with my boys tried briefly the Bar des sports, It is a nice place for the initiated,

The Feu Postérieur or Rear Light is an alignment lighthouse of 28.60 meters height to enter the channel. The range of the lighthouse is 8 nautical miles, which is more than enough to reach the entrance of the channel. You see in white on the far right of the pic below.

The first groundbreaking ceremony took place in 1973. Today, Port du Crouesty is the largest marina in Brittany, with over 1,432 pontoon berths. Shops, restaurants, and hotels thrive to the rhythm of numerous nautical events: the Crouesty Grand Prix in Spring, the Morbihan Paddle Trophy, the Le Mille Sabords du Crouesty Gulf of Morbihan Boat Show (All Saints’ Day weekend), and the Edhec Cruise Race.
