The town of Trignac is located in the Loire-Atlantique department no. 44, in the Pays de la Loire region of my belle France. The town was created in 1914 from a partial division of Montoir-de-Bretagne. It is located between the Loire estuary and the Brière marshes, near Saint-Nazaire. It is only 7 km from Saint Nazaire, 21 km from La Baule- Escoublac, 20 km from Pontchâteau, and 60 km from Nantes, We came on the N165 to exit /sortie 11,1 Pontchâteau taking the D773/D4 to connect with the N171 to Trignac, Therefore, let me tell you about this is Trignac !! Hope you enjoy the post as I,

In center, Trignac ,we passed briefly by the Church Saint-Eloi, patron saint of goldsmiths, is the protector of the new parish from January 1, 1922, During the bombing of March 22, 1943,(WWII) the church burned and was completely destroyed. A temporary wooden church was built in 1946. It would receive parishioners until 1957 and even serve as a youth club before disappearing in a fire in 1966. The new church was began in November 1955 and the inauguration took place on Whit Monday, June 10, 1957. The church is still in service today. Right next to the church you have the mairie or city hall of Trignac,
Other things to see are the old Forges (1879-1932). In 1879, the Anjou Iron Mines Company decided to create the Forges de Saint-Nazaire and the establishment was made in Trignac. Production began in 1882 It ceased its cast iron production activity in 1932 following the shutdown of the blast furnaces. The factory was closed definitively on March 23, 1943.
A bit of history tell us that towards the end of the 19C, Trignac was part of the town of Montoir-de-Bretagne, and had only 319 inhabitants. Its history is therefore closely linked to that of Montoir-de-Bretagne. On March 31, 1914, Trignac was established as an independent town. At the end of WWII, because of the existence of the Saint-Nazaire Pocket, the nazis occupation continued in Trignac as in all the neighboring towns of the estuary for 9 more months (from August 1944 to May 11, 1945), the effective surrender of the pocket occurring 3 days after the capitulation of Germany.
