The Salon de la Gastronomie et des Arts Culinaires of Vannes, part II !!!

My fav event in the area of Vannes and they continue the tradition !!!  When, I moved to the beautiful Morbihan for work duties and stayed, we heard about it, but always too many to choose from , and went elsewhere, then in 2014 got the bugs and went in; surprise was nice ! We have gone ever since, skipping a year and the virus but always here, By now many producers are known and even have delivered home and freebies !!!  This year was no exception as the Salon de la Gastronomie et des Arts Culinaires of Vannes, part II !!! was held again at the Chorus expo center in the Parc du Golfe of Vannes.

The gastronomy and wine fair was/is held November 29-30 ,from 10h to 19h, and December 1st, from 10h to 18h 2025 ,Admission is 5€ but we get in free as producers send us invitations before the event every year, Again, more than 100 exposants from wines, cheeses, jellies butcher shop, cooking classes to pots and pans on display and ready to take home, Free parking. The expo center has a big entry pavilion call Hall A, and then on the left you enter into another huge pavilion, call Hall B, The first pavilion is for the organisers, the butcher shop, cooking classes , and some food outlets. The second pavilion is where the main wine exposants and additional food stands are located.

We first stop by several years ago in Muzillac (see post), and then follow them in their outlet in Auray ,and they have another outlet in Redon and Vannes, We met them again at the salon for their delicious cinnamon buns ! The had association selling breads and sweets and we purchase our 3 baguettes there cheaply at one euro, We dwell into rums from Guadaloupe, a French island in the Caribbean, dept 972 They are made and bottled in Plougoumelen, Morbihan not far from home as CasaPunch SAS, We got their coconut, pear, strawberry and passion fruit blends, Their official Casa Punch : https://casapunch.com/18plus.html

Our wine producer above was not into rosé wines yet as for that they come up in March but were referred to another nice folks from Sancerre Julie and Patrick Noël and we got their rosé with tastings good deal we came out happy, They claim this rosé is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown on siliceous soil. Produced using direct pressing, it has a pale pink color and is light and fruity. On the palate, its freshness is complemented by fruity and mineral notes. There you go folks, a dandy indeed! This one in Vannes is one of the best me think, And after talking with the exposants I believe it even more. Wonderful choices to complement each other and a friendly ambiance, The very best of my belle France under one roof, can’t beat it anywhere ! Already looking forward to the next one, catch it , this is France at its best for the food, the ambiance the savoir faire and all of the above ! Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
