We have driven and walked in my former memorable City of Versailles, and would like to have an imprint in my blog on the wonderful family times we had there, There is so much to see , doing my best, and glad found me these older pictures in my cd rom, which now transposing in my blog for you and me, This was my old home, so glad to post, Therefore, here is my take on curiosities of Versailles, part X !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The 10 Rue du Peintre Lebrun, front of corner with the Rue Eudore Soulié see the wall behind the garden and front door, this is the back of the famous Hôtel Les Lumiéres who front Rue Colbert facing the palace, A very special place in Versailles,

The Rue du Peintre Lebrun is 468 meters long, and was the former rue des Bons-Enfants, parallel to rue des Réservoirs, It was named after the painter Charles Lebrun, first painter to King Louis XIV who owned two houses at nos. 14 and 15, The remarkable buildings here are at No. 1 and 3 (or 2): Pavillon des Fontainiers built in 1686 on part of the Hôtel de Villeroy: Home to the architects of water and fountains, No. 6: former Auberge du Cormier where Mozart stayed in 1763, No. 10: former Hôtel de Mansart built in 1681 , No. 14 and 15: Maison de Charles Lebrun ,former residences demolished by the Archbishop of Reims, a squire of Madame de Maintenon, officers of the Countess of Provence, the Duchess of Maine ,At no. 24: Former Hôtel du Duc de Maine in 1708.

The interesting story here is that when Leopold Mozart arrived in Paris on November 18, 1763, to present his two child prodigies: Marie-Anne, known as Nannerl, aged twelve, and especially his little Wolfgang, aged seven. The official reception of the family, who stayed at the Hôtel du Cormier (no. 6 of the current Rue du Peintre Lebrun), a stone’s throw from the palace, took place at the end of December. On January 1, 1764, the family was invited to attend the King’s “Grand Couvert” , The Mozarts would stay sixteen days at Versailles On January 8, 1764, the Mozarts returned to Paris , The Mozarts prepared to leave Paris on April 10. As a token of gratitude, Mozart dedicated to Madame Victoire, fifth daughter and seventh child of Louis XV and Marie Leszczinska., in March, his first two harpsichord sonatas published in Paris. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg in 1756 and died on December 5, 1791 in Vienna,
