Most write about far away lands we visit but seldom about the one we live in, I have visited 81 countries, lived/worked in 5 countries, and citizen of 4 with passports, and all have an impact on my life, Which the experiences are shown in my blog for the memories of always, Needless, to say the meaning of Pluvigner is big on my family. I had written several post on our lives here, and this continues the tradition. My latest forays with camera into town ! Anyway, you know we are in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France. Therefore, here is my take again on curiosities of Pluvigner, part II !!! The town of Pluvigner has now about 7650 inhabitants with a superficie almost the same size as Marseille ! It is criss-cross by many départemental roads such as the D16, D102,D133 ,D102 and the dept wide D768 going to the beaches of Carnac and Quiberon. It is about 40 kms (25 mi) from Quiberon and 14 km from Auray. It is about 35 km from the Atlantic coast in the Gulf of Morbihan ,and near the bigger cities of Vannes (27 km), Pontivy (37 km), Lorient (34 km) and Auray (14 km) All central , we love it !
The main reason of this new condense post is my stop today by the Lave O Matic De Pluvignier or laundrymat at 7 rue de la Gare , to clean our couettes or bed duvets as winter is gone and need to store them for the next one, There are big so do not fit into our washing machine at home, No web but very nicely located…..

One business we have frequented here especially when my dear late wife Martine was around was the Jardinerie de Porh Mirabeau at 66 Rue de la Gare or route d’Auray D768; where we gathered some growing dirt and plants for our front garden. And always a good advice on gardening that now we are nulle ! The visits have been less but still memorable for me. Gérard Legendre shoe repair and sewing services located at 11 rue des Fontaines offers alteration of clothing, keys, stamps/engravings, business cards, automobile plates and maintenance. When we came to Pluvigner back in 2013 we shop for breads and sweet at this bakery that was on our way home upon entering the town, Over the year they have gone to two management changes but lately holding steady at Boulangerie Y & D as new owners Yann and Deborah. Yann bake bread until mid-afternoon so guarantee freshness. The specialty of Deborah,the pastry section is all homemade and only works with local products. The wonderful creative artisanal La Fondue de Chocolat located at 3 rue de l’église, diagonally in front of the Church. This is a great shop and one we certainly visit ; the store is smallish, but packed with all kinds and shapes of chocolate items, wines, liquors, pates, miel ;coffees, cookies, jellies and snacks from many leading producers even as far as Provence. It offers you around fifteen fine chocolates, palets, beggars, hammer chocolate (large broken bar), bars, molds, They are created daily, I can vouch, they are delicious, recommended. We frequently visit or even take out pizzas at Le Scampi pizzeria ,went to our local regional and French champion pizza maker do his magic. The Ti Case pizzas located at 8 Rue Dr Pascal, open every day except Mondays from 17h to 21h, We come often on a quick pickup or late night foodie, the pizzas are done fresh good and inexpensive, The only down their hours are limited, Official Ti Case: https://ticasepizza.com/
One of the quick lunch places we patronise in town as very friendly people and hard working folks is the Star Kebab (previous owner sold it to his cousin and still open) in place Saint Michel walking distance from our house , and across from the Mairie or City hall building, The service of the couple was as told, the locum was given, and the food very nicely best price and good. The Le Stadium bar located at 6 Place Saint-Michel was the first bar or restaurant we stopped by when came to Pluvigner, We were walking the town to get to know it and stopped here for a cold beer on our way home, It has been our central bar ever since 2013, ,If you want information on the local sports scene this is the place to know all the details, posters and patrons alike will tell all, The previous owner held there for 35 years until june 2022 when the new owners took over for the same story, They are new to this art so far holding well, he is a nurse and she is a caregiver by profession.No web but in the RestaurantGuru reviews on the bar : https://restaurantguru.com/Le-Stadium-Pluvigner
And no longer a créperie but a wonderful memorable spot for my family in Pluvigner was the Château de Rimaison right in front of the bakery and mma assurances and diagonally across the laundrymat ! The memories here are of the former Créperie de Rimaison inside (see post), Was by it so took another picture for the memories of always, No web.

There you go folks, my town of Pluvigner, another historical memorable town for us , already 12 years in the house and now more empty than ever missing my mom, dad, and wife, Life goes on and the town has been good, hard to tell the future but I believe this will be my last town, from here to the sea at Honfleur Normandie as our family has.
