Curiosities of Belz !!

I am again on beautiful coastal Belz in my beautiful Morbihan of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, I have been here before and just found me older pictures in my cd rom vault and they should be in my blog for you and me, Let me tell you a bit on curiosities of Belz !! The town of Belz ,also includes île Saint-Cado island (see posts), located on the Etel estuary, which owes its name to Saint Cadou, who lived there as a hermit in the 6C. It was also from the end of the 19C that the oyster farming gradually replaced the dredge of the natural benches which were exhausted. The Etel river and especially the shores of Belz, including its islets, become an important oyster production center across the Morbihan.(see post)

The fontaine de Manegroven on the rue de Saint Cado, It is a very old fountain, was already mentioned on the Napoleonic cadastre, At the rear a few steps allow access to the door of the source. Above it is represented: a Breton sailor’s head, elements reminiscent of the sea, there is also a small niche now empty.On the facade, two characters supervise the pump, it is Ferdinand and Maria, these two statues were restored in 2009 The statues are in reference to an ancient story that continues to make Saint-Cado smile: a child’s answer to the question of the catechist, “Who are your first parents? ». Cite Maria and Ferdinand appeared more obvious than Adam and Eve.

The Pont Lorois (bridge) crosses the Ria of Étel between Belz and Plouhinec and connects the country of Auray to the country of Lorient. It is the only passage between the two shores.  It is actually in the town of Belz but dividing line with Plouhinec.

In 1888, 66 bronze axes as well as gold bracelets were discovered in Belz. These objects are exhibited in the museums of Carnac, Vannes and Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines 78). The town of Belz is now proud of a prestigious prehistoric site. Following a fire which incidentally freed the landier present in an artisanal area, a field of menhirs was discovered in July 2006 on the site of as the Dolmen of Kerdruellan, near the estuary of Étel.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
