Shopping in Vannes, part III !!!

This is one of the wonderful things we do here, going shopping in Vannes!!! We love the fact that we have such a great capital city not big not small just right, next to the Gulf of Morbihan and we live in a small quiet nice town just 30 km or  about 18 miles from it. Let me update for you this older post on shopping in Vannes, part III !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

I  have written several articles on market shopping especially in my new area of the Morbihan Breton. They never stop amazing my family, we just simply love them. We do most of our food shopping in them, and the misc extra in the supermarket.  We did again some wonderful shopping in our capital city of Vannes; where most of the shopping is located,

The nice friendly Nicolas wine and liquor store in the old town of Vannes in place du poids public. And again we were greeted nicely and long conversation with the store manager that we have known for years, We loaded our usual cartons of red and rosé today,  Nicolas is tops, recommended for all your wine needs in France, Their property in Vannes : https://www.nicolas.com/fr/magasins/VANNES/s/00006994.html

We do shop for some groceries, especially non edible types in the centre commercial E Leclerc of Vannes and my sons enjoy the Espace Culturel E. Leclerc. This is a hypermarket with plenty to choose from and good prices including a service station and car washing facilities only 24 km (about 15 mi) from homein the centre commecial E Leclerc where we do our groceries sundry items and my boys go into the cultural center, which a store apart in the shopping center. We were there today for some misc stuff, Their property in Vannes : https://www.e.leclerc/mag/e-leclerc-vannes

The La Huche à Pain bakery at 3 Place des Lices  is one of our favorite bakeries pastry shop or boulangerie/Pâtisserie in Vannes. It offers you daily artisanal products with a unique taste. All the breads are kneaded, shaped and baked in the bakeries throughout the day,  Founded in 1982, La Huche à pain is a Vannes institution! Indeed, The house specialty is the kouign-amann: a must. The shop offers fars and other Breton specialties, pastries as well as a whole range of savory products for the aperitif , surprise bread, toast, mini-verrines..or for a meal on the go , pizzas, toast, sandwiches , salads, quiches.. It is also possible to sit on site: take advantage of the terrace which overlooks the emblematic Place des Lices! And we of course walking by there today hungry went for the ready made sandwiches and choco cookies to kill for it as well as our baguette tradition and went home to eat it delicious as always, Coeur de Vannes business assoc on the la Huche à pain : https://coeurdevannes.fr/commercant/la-huche-a-pain/

We took a peek today as our alternative when the halle aux poissons is not open, this is the Chez Michel-Pierre poissonnerie or fish market, at 2 Place du Poids Public in old town Vannes. A busy place, probably because this family business, which has been open to the street for nearly 50 years, like a market, makes it a more natural choice. All coastal seafood comes directly from Lorient, Quiberon, Le Croisic, and the Gulf of Morbihan. Here, the focus is on freshness, with excellent value for money. and the fish can be prepared to the customer’s request. A worthy stop indeed

A new try, this is the Palais des épices , a true ali baba cavern of a thousand flavors. This temple of spices offers a refined selection of herbs, teas, rare peppers, and house blends to enhance your dishes. A must-see for food lovers and those passionate about culinary discoveries. It is next to the above with address 10 Place de la Poissonnerie, The Coeur de Vannes business assoc on the palais des épices : https://coeurdevannes.fr/commercant/palais-des-epices/

The Pasta Danieli has been sometimes our takeaway place while in our walking in Vannes. They serve charcuterie and cheeses. Fresh pasta and homemade ravioli. Dishes cooked on site. Pizzas to go. Breadsticks, risotto, dried pasta, olive oils, Modena balsamic vinegars, as well as wines and spirits. They have a grocery store too if you want to cook at home, Right in quant historic Place du Poids Public our fav area of Vannes, The official pasta Danieli : https://danieli.eatbu.com/?lang=fr#menu

And why not come next door for a complete loop joining the mighty cheeses to our table, This is the Fromagerie Kérouzine, cheesemaker and refiner,it offers some 140 cheeses according to the seasons and maturation processes: around forty made from goat’s milk (melting, firm, fresh, matured, etc.) ,pressed or blue-veined cheeses, bloomy rinds, washed rinds, etc. All cheeses are represented, even the rarest. We load up each by them and of course with the pasta and the wines see above plus the bakery very close buy is like a one time shopping spree !! Enjoy it no web, right on the Place du Poids Public tops !
