I like to tell you about the new small town of Bon Repos sur Blavet, but not let them fool you the best here is in the old part, this is now a combination of at least 3 towns that I visited on my last road warrior tour of my region, These town are all in the Côtes-d’Armor Dept 22 of my lovely region of Bretagne, and in my belle France. Just to show you the diversity and beauty all around me, Therefore, this is my take on the Church Saint Juvenal of Saint Gelven and Bon Repos sur Blavet !! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The former town of Saint-Gelven now included in the new town of Bon Repos sur Blavet. It is served by the N164bis, now the N 164 , as we came in for a visit, Originally, not intended to be here but since it was so close to the other spots we planned on going, why not the side trip, and it was nice,
The former town of Saint-Gelven was a dismemberment of the old primitive parish of Plussulien. Under the monarchy was a village of the parish of Laniscat. On June 24, 1184, Alain III, viscount of Rohan, and his wife Constance of Brittany founded the Cistercian abbey of Bon-Repos (see post). Between 1195 and 1516, all the Viscounts of Rohan were buried in the abbey choir. Saint-Gelven develops from this abbey. It was brought together in Laniscat in 1790. The town of Saint-Gelven was founded in two stages, by the laws of January 10, 1850 and June 28, 1851 to the detriment of Laniscat.
The Church Saint Juvenal, rebuilt, from 1901 to 1904 and blessed on November 20, 1904. It included a nave with low sides of six spans with outside bell tower and little accentuated choir; 15C style. The church houses the ancient statues of Saint Juvenal, Saint Maudez, and Saint Diboan. In modern stained glass windows, miracles of Saint Maudez. The statue of Saint Maudez (17-18C) comes from an old Saint-Maudez chapel, today disappeared, He was a religious of Irish origin, very popular in Lower Brittany, landed in the 6C in the Trégorroise region where he lives as a hermit.

Other thing to see here are the Chapelle Notre-Dame des Champs (1893), blessed on July 2, 1893. Rectangular chapel among modern stained glass: Saint Maudez; The Cross Notre-Dame des Champs (18C). The Virgin and Saint John stand at the foot of the cross. The Château or Manor de Correc or Gorrec (16-17C), renovated in 1662 and 1677.
