I like to tell you about the new small town of Bon Repos sur Blavet, but not let them fool you the best here is in the old part, this is now a combination of at least 3 towns that I visited on my last road warrior tour of my region, These town are all in the Côtes-d’Armor Dept 22 of my lovely region of Bretagne, and in my belle France. Just to show you the diversity and beauty all around me, Therefore, this is my take on the Church Saint Gildas of Laniscat and Bon Repos sur Blavet !! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The village of Laniscat is now part of Bon Repos sur Blavet ,and the siége of the new town of Bon Repos sur Blavet. Laniscat is a dismemberment of the old primitive parish of Plussulien under the monarchy, the parish of Laniscat has three truce: Rosquelfen, Saint-Gelven and Saint-Ygeaux.The towns of Saint-Gelven and Saint-Ygeaux were detached from Laniscat in 1850 and the villages of Kerdahel, Saint-Delon, Kerboneleguy, Kerselaven, Kerdrebuil and Correc are detached in 1851, in order to create and enlarge the town of Saint-Gelven.
The Church Saint-Gildas 18C at Place de l’église The bell tower-porch dates from 1667, 1725 and 1751. The altarpiece of the master-altar,dates from 1667-1668. The Tabernacle, in polychrome wood, comes from the Saint-Mathurin chapel and dates from the 18C: it stages the sacrifice of Abraham. The Bas-Cotés and the Porch date from 1691. A platform and sand pits decorated with sculptures date back to the 16C, the lateral altars and the chair of the 17C. The large arcades are from the 16C. Most of the church dates from the 17C. There is a bas-relief which dates from 1725 and which represents a woman with naked breasts. Another bas-relief, dated from the 16C, retraces the scenes of the passion of Jesus Christ and comes, it seems, from the primitive Church. The 5 -chillet wheel dates from the 16C. The wooden crucifix dates from the 17C with the exception of the large arcades of the two closest spans of the choir which seem to go back to the first years of the 16C as well as a corresponding portion of the longère house, and the bell tower dates back to the 18C,The bell tower seems to date from the 17C. It is a square tower crowned by an openwork lantern.

Other things to see here are the chapel of Rosquelfen 15 C partly rebuilt in 1828 (sacristy). , the chapel consists of a single, elongated nave, to which a chapel is grafted to the south. The bedside is flat. It also consists of an elongated porch on its southern face as well as a porch tower. In the cemetery is a monumental calvary of the 16C. The arms of the cross are supported by patterns, it is located north of an old Roman road connecting Rennes to Carhaix where a Gallic treasure of 545 Gallic coins was found from 75 to 50 BC. The chapel is built on an old sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin the second half of the 14C. The bell tower is dated 1668, Last spans is 1st half 16C ,bedside 1667 south and north aisle and porch in 1691; West porch tower from 1725 to 1751. The three covered alleys in Laniscat date back to the Neolithic has been taking place, for a time, immemorial, the forgiveness of Saint Gildas; We bring the dogs there to preserve them from the rage by bathing them in the fountain of the saint. The pardon of Saint-Gildas in Laniscat is still organized today on the last Sunday in January of each year: a Tantad on Saturday near the Saint-Gildas chapel and a mass followed by a procession on Sunday at the Church Saint Gildas. The Saint Gildas Chapel dates from the 18C located on a 189-meter high mound, its menhir on which Holy Gildas would have lived, a forgiveness is still celebrated there on the last Sunday in January. partly rebuilt in 1828 (sacristy).
