Curiosities of Pluvigner, part I !!!

Well , as I had said , why not write about the town you live in ? We tend to focus on other travel areas and forget what we have in our backyard ! Not me, my current town is all over my blog !! I have written many post on our daily lives here and this is another one I like to update with new text and links for you and me, I like to tell about the everyday life in my beautiful Morbihan, lovely Bretagne, and my belle France. Oh yes of course, my vibrant pretty Pluvigner where I live for the last 11 yrs of my life. A town of now only 7,5 K folks…but the town of Pluvigner aims to reach 10,000 inhabitants by 2030. And to do so, it is giving itself the means to meet its ambitions by launching significant new investments. Like, for example, the creation of a new cultural hub (see post).  Let me tell you a bit more on curiosities of Pluvigner, part I !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I

Another building I go often and even today again is the post office as with families everywhere in different continents , the la Poste is a must. Luckily is also walking distance from my house too!

The Mairie or city/ town hall of Pluvigner originally built in 1866 with two wings built later to receive school and the court , Now houses also, the tourist office, local police, and social services. There is now an annex of the Auray Quiberon terre océane agglomeration which groups together many towns into one administrative group, A trend in France for several years now,

And finally, but not least, the memorial we have of the down B17 bombardier crew of the Beats Me  on January 23, 1943, who felled in our town borders (Kéronic,) ,  Seven airmen were killed and three survived. There is a stone or stele was done in the presence of the survivor’s  Charles Roth and Mel Schulstad ( usual pilot but absent the day of the mission) on November 5, 1994 to do in commemoration and thank you of this American crew flying out of England on the 360 bomb group to bomb nazi submarine bases in Lorient.

A future development which is farther from our house is the Bodéveno site . This is call the cornerstone of the development that will reconfigure the town of Pluvigner. This is a private project, by the current owner of the supermarket Super U  who wants to move his brand there and has purchased an area of ​​14 ha. 9.7 ha will be devoted to Zacom, including 4.7 ha of green spaces , and the rest for housing. The supermarket would be accompanied by a gallery type mall, with shops and a brasserie-style restaurant. The Lidl supermarket (which is even closer to us now) and Mr. Bricolage (a hardware gardening brand now closer to us too) , currently located near the Goh Lanno area, would accompany this move.  As well as Feu Vert auto service store ,etc. It seems to be a huge complex like a one stop shopping. The project has begun with clearing of the land, stop for the summer break and will continue next September 2024.

There you go folks, a bit more on my vibrant small nice quant Pluvigner and we love it here. Nice town to walk around and do it all while having most of what you need in city center! There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
