We are in summer, and we have boundless beauties in my belle France and especially in my lovely Bretagne ! I set out again to known and new territories in my road warrior mode of always that took me to neighboring departments in the north of Brittany, I came back again to the beautiful wonderful stunning corsair City of Saint Malo !!. My idea was to see old and new so I came back to do some walk warrior trails, and of course, found me the old and the new to revisit and to share with the world ! I have many posts on the City in my blog, but this one is a repeat visit, Therefore, let me tell you about the curiosities of Saint Malo ,part III !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Petit Train of Saint Malo. another good option on a narrow cobblestone fortified city to take the tour first. You take it at the Esplanade Saint Vincent, between the tourist office and the Castle. The visit lasts 30 minutes inside the old town. With its transparent roofs, you will see the charm of the intramural and the extent of the historic monuments, but also the Corsaires district illustrated by the statues of native men of Saint-Malo. You will enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay and discover the phenomenon of the largest tides in Europe. An easel indicates the time for the following visit (every 40 minutes). Without reservation for individuals.

This is very nice because it is walking distance from the intra muros fun area and overlooking the Sillon beach , just wonderful.  It is in an iodized atmosphere and a liner decor that the Casino Barrière de Saint Malo welcomes you from Monday to Sunday to entertain you. You will find 125 slot machines, Ball, Roulette and Blackjack. A wide range of activities are offered there each week, such as dinner shows, concerts by artists from the French and international scene, open-air dinners or buffets.

The island is accessible at low tide. Private today, the fort belongs to an old Breton family.  Formerly called “Fort Royal” and also “Fort Impérial” ,during the years of the First and Second Empire,(Napoleonic periods)  the current Fort National was built in 1689 by engineer Siméon Garangeau according to plans by Vauban and on orders of King Louis XIV, at the same time as the ramparts of Saint-Malo were reinforced, of which it ensured the defense. If you see the French flag hoisted on the Fort,(meaning is open) then dive into the 35-minute guided and narrated tour. You will relive more than three centuries of military life with its legends and dungeons, the immersion is total.

The 3-masted Etoile du Roy is a replica of a 1745 Corsair frigate (and a beauty). This 310-ton vessel was armed with 20 guns and accommodated 236 crew on board. The third largest traditional French ship, Etoile du Roy is today an extraordinary vessel capable of carrying 120 people at sea. It is also an extraordinary reception venue. On board, they organize cocktails, weddings, dinners, dance evenings, product launches, meetings, etc. Etoile du Roy is based in Saint-Malo and is the flagship of the Etoile Marine Cruises fleet.

The Grande Roue Saint-Malo is 40 meters high and endowed with 30 closed cabins with six places, it offers a view of the entire bay of Saint-Malo. You can admire the Pointe du Grouin, Cap Fréhel, the bell tower of Saint-Méloir-des-Mondes and the mouth of the Rance. Located at quai Surcouf near the Duguay-Trouin basin, and will remain until August 31 2024. A bit high for me but another opportunity to see far of the beautiful Saint Malo.
