We are back to my dear Spain again !! love it !! We came by car of course and took time to see new areas and old repeat as could not be in Spain without stopping in my Madrid! I came again with my boys and dog Rex, and it was a thrill as usual! I like to tell you more of Madrid to heaven and a hole in the sky to look down on it everyday !!! The city of Madrid is the capital of the kingdom of Spain, and located in the Comunidad de Madrid region From my latest escapes it is 211 km from Valladolid City , 198 km from our rental house in Velliza, 183 km from Tordesillas, 172 km from Rueda, 159 km from Medina del Campo, 199 km from Simancas, We made long walks all over the City , and took the metro when necessary, three times. I love to tell you of our latest escape to the wonderful City, for the memories of always and return, eventually. This is an icon for me since 10 years old, and a must to come each time even near Madrid ! Lots of stories of family and friends over the years here, memories forever ! Hala Madrid !!!

The Estadio Santiago Bernabéu even if games are already playing is not finished I know was there see the pictures !! The latest is will be done by December 2024,,,, hopefully as I like to come in when totally done, and keep the memories of the old. TheTour Bernabéu space,has been moved to the side of of the stadium now in a reduce space and tour as all is not done yet, The stadium with doubled the size with new content to live a unique experience In addition, two Real Madrid megastores will be implemented and other commercial spaces will be built in different areas of the stadium. This is huge, modern, awesome building shaping up I was there at one megastore already open and it was nice but still prefer the cozyness of the Calle del Carmen store near Puerta del Sol,

The adaptation of the urban environment of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium charged toReal Madrid’sbudgets will put an end to pedestrian coexistence on Calle Rafael Salgado ,and the creation of public spaces with two new squares. In the Paseo de la Castellana, a square of more than 10,000 square meters will be adapted and a space for stays privately owned by Real Madrid but for public use and enjoyment will be created in the Plaza de los Sagrados Corazones of more than 5,000 square meters. Great !!! still ongoing !!!

I like to include as well in this post the Plaza de Cibeles , and our symbol of victories the famous Fuente de Cibeles fountain; representing the Greek goddess of Cybil The fountain was built between 1777 and 1782 in front of the palace of Buenavista (army see post). The fountain was put at its current place in 1895, You can admire the goddess Cybil holding a scepter and a key while being pulled by two lions on a chariot.  The pull of the wild lions symbolize the power of nature or of the goddess; the figures took about 10K kg of stones and three different artists. The Cibeles fountain is the meeting place for all victories of the famous Real Madrid CF football/Soccer team every time any championship is won, which has been often. FIFA club of the 20C , and still battling for the 21st, as well as  IFFHS  European club of the 20C. There was lots of celebration here after winning our 37th Liga championship and our 15 Champions , a record by far, You can come here on metro Banco de España line 2 or Bus lines 14 and  27 bus take you to Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

There you go folks , another wonderful nostalgic, sentimental trip to my dear Spain, Madrid is always nostalgic sentimental words cannot describe it ! This is a vibrant cosmopolitan cities of friendly faces and smiles to share in long conversations about life and more ; I love it, And these places are part of my life forever ! There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.       1. Didn’t Spain play well last night? Obviously I was supporting France but my money’s still on Spain to win the Euros.
