Curiosities of Saint Nolff !!!

The picturesque small town of Saint Nolff has a lot of nostalgia for us but read on in my blog, this post is to tell you about the the other things to do and see in nostalgic Saint Nolff.  Oh yes of course, the town is in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 , my lovely region of Bretagne, and about 11 km from Vannes, and 35 km from my house, Therefore, let me tell about the curiosities of Saint Nolff !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

Saint Nolff is a very quant, secluded with lots going on including a popular rock concert festival, and lots of architecture and history in one small place. I like to get nostalgic and tell you about some of the things did here as worked in town for almost 9 years ! I started forming (founder/coach/captain and player!) a indoor soccer/ football  corporate team using the gym Jean Humbersat of the town of Saint Nolff. The town even entrusted me with the key to the gym ! , talk about small town feelings, When I left gave the key back and they wish me farewell in my retirement !!! Memories forever !!!

As the town was about couple km from work and even if we had a great restaurant on the grounds with subsidized meals, we escape out for a different lunch more personal and of course we came into the town’s center to eat on several occasions, This was in the Mustang pub, or the bakery. Memories forever now that retirement came !!!

The Gourvineg occupied with the Breton sovereign, in the 15C, positions of high responsibility, in particular those of advisor to the Duke or captain of the guards, and their important income allowed them to have a major lifestyle. The Étang de Gourvinec or pond was the water reserve of the mill if we do not know the date of construction of the mill, This mill was built by the family of Gourvinec, lords of Bézit. The first mention of this mill dates back to 1503. Three wheels are driven by the Condat river to turn wheat into flour. It will remain the property of Gourvineg until the 18C. It will then pass into the hands of various owners, In 1930, it was transformed into a sawmill, As the flow of water is not always sufficient, a Merlin model steam locomotive serves as an extra. This activity will stop in 1951. Used for a poultry farm, from 1960 to 1970, it was bought by the town of Saint Nolff in 1989, which ensured its restoration. It was and is a spot for picnic and relaxation of families and folks from my former employer , and still do, it is right off the road D135.
