I needed to split these posts to do credit to these small towns of my belle France, The first one was Le Fuilet in department 49 of Maine et Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire, This is my take on it and the nice Church Saint Martin ! Hope you enjoy the post as I
The town of Le Fuilet has become since 2015 a new town of Montrevault on Evre , It is about 10 km from the Loire river , The old town of Le Fuilet is located on the road D 17,with the closest large cities are Cholet at 31 km , Nantes at 34 km and Angers 47 km away, Le Fuilet became a parish in the 11C , and in the old regime (monarchy), it was part of the Marshes of Anjou and Brittany in the bishopric of Nantes.
The Church Saint-Martin was placed under the patronage of Saint Martin. Formerly located around the church, the current cemetery was born in 1815, then was enlarged in 1877 , The church was the second built on the parish, The name of the church testifies to a first evangelization before the Normans by the monks of Vertou, an abbey located near Nantes. This evangelization was reactivated by the monks of Marmoutier. The church was a survivor of the French revolution and again parish in 1802, saw its choir and bell tower rebuilt in 1839. In 1874 a new church in Gothic style of the 13C was completed. Unlike the churches of the surroundings which were demolished one after the other , this one maintained and held on, On June 1, 1947, the new foundation stone was laid. On July 18, 1948, the bishop of Angers Monsignor Costes, blessed the chapel and the song of the potter resounded all afternoon in the streets of the festive village. This chapel is dedicated to Notre-Dame de la Salette whose statue can be seen on the left of the choir. The belltower contains “Marie” , the bell which has erected the hours and the Angelus since been electrified in 1996.

Other nice monument to see here with time is the Maison du Potier, located at 2 rue des recoins, Here you have guided tour, demonstrations by potters, exhibitions, internships. Several pottery to visit, artisanal pottery stores (garden, decoration, culinary, etc.), notably at a place called Tartifume. No time to see the above but here is the local Ozez mauges area tourist office on the Maison du Potier : https://www.osezmauges.com/cultural-heritage/la-maison-du-potier/
History enthusiasts will be able to go in the footsteps of the Vendée wars on the territory of Montrevault-sur-Evre, from La Chapelle-Aubry to Montrevault via different towns of the Mauges after the Galenne trip, the survivors of the Vendée army come back to the country by trying to cross the Loire in Ancenis (hoping to join the English which supposes coming to their aid). Pierre Cathelineau accompanied by 400 soldiers comes to meet them, However, he was first stopped in Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges, in the town, by a republican troupe in Montrevault. After a hard fight, out of winner, he left for the Le Fuilet where he met up with Monnier, a Clissonnais Vendée officer at the head of a small troop. From the Bellouardière, a place of junction, these troops will join the Chaussaire to make diversion, then Liré. The Blues having destroyed the boats, they will be helpless and will not be able to help their brothers in arms, many of whom will die in the marshes during the Battle of Savenay, I have done by car is about 50 km all around, need to be back for details.
