The town of Elven is ,of course in my beautiful Morbihan and lovely Bretagne , and my belle France, It is just 15 km of Vannes on the axis Vannes-Rennes, road N166. It is ,also, about 39 km from my house. I found me again older pictures not in my blog and they should be, Do see my other posts on it! Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on the Chapelle Sainte Anne of Elven, part II !! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Chapelle of Sainte Anne was built in 1902. It is located 200 meters from Saint Alban Church (see posts). The Chapel dates from the beginning of the 20C ; built in neo-Gothic style, its remarkable gable dominates the Ker Anna district. The door is surmounted by an accolade with finial resting on pilasters with flowered pinnacles. A Cornish bell tower soars into the sky, extended by an arrow confined to small gables and gargoyles.

Inside, the Chapelle Sainte Anne you see a pretty stained glass windows retracing the history of Sainte-Anne (Patron Saint of Brittany). That of the choir presents the donors, in particular Monsieur de Charette as a pontifical Zouave. The stained glass window of the choir is original in its design and allows us to evoke some pages of our history. We see on one side the spire of the church, on the other side the fortress of Largoët,(see post) a way of asserting that the scene takes place in Elven. In the background, on one side, the parishioners in traditional costume; on the other the clergy. One of my son’s below!!

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers
