I have several posts on it and encourage you to see them, this is a wonderful coastal/beach town, Therefore,I will do this one the curiosities of Saint Philibert !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I,
Of course, this is in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely region of Bretagne and in my belle France. Saint-Philibert is a charming town , conducive to relaxation and discovery. Thus, this small Breton town is home to several places to discover and offers a great variety of activities to visitors , and locals alike.
The Fort of Kernevest construction was decided by an imperial decree issued by Napoleon III on May 18, 1860. It was a military coastal surveillance battery, it was to protect the entrance to the Crac’h river and the port of La Trinité sur Mer, From 1940 to 1944 the Nazis used this place which was then part of the Atlantic Wall. Since 1991 and until June 22, 2000 , the Conservatoire du Littoral bought the coastal zone as a measure to protect the environment. The town of Saint Philibert then decided to rehabilitate the site of the Fort and bring it back to life by setting up an ideally located sailing school there.

In 1855, the Phare de Kernevest was built on the shore of Saint Philibert at a place called Kernevest (or lighthouse of Kernevest) to guide boats returning to the port of La Trinité sur Mer. First with fixed fire, then it was a rotating beam that oriented the ships. It is a whole family of keepers who remained attached to this lighthouse: the grandfather, the father, the two daughters including Anna Le Bail; the lantern had to be kept burning during the long stormy nights. You can see an Anna Le Bail stele on the edge of the coast at Kernevest in front of the small alignment lights and the keeper’s house. The lighthouse is a tower, painted white and green, about 15 meters high The lighthouse was purchased by the town of Saint Philibert in 2014, which partially renovated it the following year.

The beach or plage de men er beleg is really nice ,secluded with nuts trees and good condominiums for rentals behind it. My favorite beach site plages tv on the plage de men er beleg: https://www.plages.tv/detail/plage-de-men-er-beleg-saint-philibert-56471

The best for us is the plage de Kernevest beach is a sandy beach very popular with families. 250 meters long, the left side is bordered by a pleasant pine forest and the right area is occupied by a sailing center. The beach is closed to animals from April 1 to September 30.My favorite beach site plages tv on the plage de Kernevest: https://www.plages.tv/detail/plage-de-kernevest-saint-philibert-56471

We come here and enjoy a galette and or nice pint of beer Penfold with the views of the pine forest. The Creperie de la Pointe Kernevet, 14 rue de Trélian is perfect for this. No webpage but reviews in RestaurantGuru: https://restaurantguru.com/Creperie-De-La-Pointe-Saint-Philibert
