Looking over my blog realised not told you about how moving in and out in Quiberon !!! Let me remedy that as this is a very popular destination by Europeans especially, and I agree is the best area to be at near me. The Quiberon is actually a peninsula ( presqu’ile ) jetting out from mainland France into the Atlantic ocean in my beautiful department of Morbihan no 56 in my lovely Bretagne, and my belle France. I have several posts on its sights but this one will be on the transports or moving in and out in Quiberon !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

As live about 40 minutes from Quiberon we come here by car always, From Paris area you go the quick toll way to Quiberon from A13 towards Rouen, then Caen, then there take the A84 towards Rennes, then the N24 direction Lorient or get off from the N24 to the N166 direction Vannes then N165 direction Lorient to exit/sortie 33 on the N165 direction Quiberon on the D768. You can do it from Paris on the A11 direction Le Mans but higher tolls. No tolls you can do it with about 2 hrs extra time on the A13 to the A12 direction Dreux to the N12 all the way to Fougéres and then the A84 to Rennes, and the N24 to Lorient and the N166 dir Vannes to N165 dir Lorient to exit 33 to Quiberon, pic riding on the N165 over the Pont de Kerplouz bridge to Quiberon ! 

Where we usually park ? Well early on we parked by the train station for free. Now there is a paying section and a free section. We tried once the park and relay parking, huge at the Parking des Îles (Semaphore) , open from April 2 to Sunday November 7,slight change each year so check ahead. Shuttles take you free of charge to the Gare Maritime or ferry terminal every 10 to 20 minutes (5-minute journey). On your return, take the shuttle back for free by presenting your ticket. I, have, also parked couple times at parking Place De La Republique where the BNP Paribas bank branch is located between Rue du phare and Rue de port Maria with aprox 45 spots metered parking, 650 meters from the Grande Plage (big beach see posts). Lately, most of the time if not always I parked by parking Place du Varquez, where the Saturday morning market is held (just come after 13h ) otherwise is good all week , and right down place Hoche to the Grande Plage ! Easy does it inexpensive metered parking.

There is a small train station or gare de  Quiberon, limited use as the most popular is in the summer season with the Tire Bouchon or screwpull train coming from/to Auray, You can make it easy from Paris Montparnasse train station to Auray, the service is done 3 week-ends in June, the first 2 week-ends of September and every day during July and August. Once in town you can move nicely with the Petit Train or litle train. Allows for a quick sightseeing and pick the best to come back in details later ,did tried it once, More info on the petit train du Morbihan : https://www.petittrain-morbihan.com/en/quiberon/

There is ,also, bus line 1 from Auray train station to Quiberon train station year round, My sons have taken it and is good ride cheap, me not taken, Is a regular line . And finally, you have the Gare Maritime (see full post) to the out islands.  It is bounded by the port of Port-Maria fishing port, and the Grande Plage beach From the gare maritime you can cruise to the islands of Arz, Houat, Hoëdic, and the biggest Belle-ïle (see post),Here you will land at Le Palais, the small capital of Belle ïle which is serve year around.
